Oscar winners you wish you saw

The Oscars seem to have two goals lately. 1. To get everyone talking about fashion, even if they don't understand it, and 2. To make everyone feel bad about not seeing the movies nominated. Due to lack of free time in my schedule I haven't had a chance to see many of the movies nominated this year. I'm actually still catching up from last year! What movies do you wish you saw before watching the Oscars? Are there any movies you didn't plan on seeing, but post-Oscar buzz convinced you to?

Milk

I don’t know why I haven’t seen this movie yet. Every time I saw a preview for it I told myself that I would go see it, but something always got in the way. (By something, I mean life.)

The Assassination of Jesse James

Okay, there is no excuse. This movie has been out for a while now and I still haven’t seen it. I should be banned from watching the Oscars.

Slumdog Millionaire

Again, another movie I have no idea why I haven’t seen yet! It really kicked ass at the Oscars this evening, which is making me regret not seeing it even more.

Doubt

Jenn already has added Milk and Slumdog Millionaire, both of which I really want to see. I also have heard great things about Doubt so I’m going to go with that one. I absolutely love Amy Adams and Meryl Streep can do no wrong!

I am among the crowd of people who didn’t like Jesse James. The first 15 minutes were amazing and the last 30 minutes were amazing. Everything in between was tedious. But the soundtrack! Of the soundtrack is the BEST soundtrack of all soundtrack history! I love it. I saw Milk a few weeks ago and 100% suggest going to the nearest theater and seeing this. Even though I know Harvey’s story from studying him in college the movie was still powerful. Sean Penn deserved the Oscar.

I have never even heard of the Jesse movie – wow.
