We've all been there. Waking up in the morning and feeling completely awful due to the amount of alcohol we had the night before (did you really need that last shot?!). But do we ever learn our lesson? Probably not. So, if you're gonna keep doing it, you may as well learn how to prevent and cure that awful feeling you get the day after. Before your next night on the town, check out Boston's guide to getting over hangovers as quickly as possible!

Gatorade

When I’ve had a little too much to drink, Gatorade is like God’s nectar to me. I never drink the stuff except when I’m completely parched and need my thirst to be quenched immediately (not to mention get some electrolytes in my system).

Luckily, lots of places carry Gatorade so I’m never far from it. Here are my two most frequented “Get Gatorade quick locations”:

Orange is my Gatorade of choice, but really, any will do.

Greasy Breakfast Food

When I’m hungover, I don’t want to eat anything at all, but I realize I’m in the minority here. Most people I know crave the greasiest foods they can find upon waking up the next morning. Eggs, bacon, and toast generally hit the spot when it comes to getting over that hangover.

YUM. How could this not cure all ails?

Pour House the

The Pour House has a fabulous after a night of drinking breakfast. In fact, you may as well just sleep over here. Do your drinking at night and wake up the next morning for their breakfast!

A Little Bit Lighter

For those of us who can’t handle a full-blown grease-fest the next morning, might want to look for something a little bit lighter. My pick would be a crepe, possibly egg and cheese, though the possibilities are endless. I’m a big crepe person and could probably manage to get one down, no matter what my condition.

Chelsea Handler Promotes Remedy

I’m a big fan of Chelsea and she’s a big fan of Remedy. Could it be the solution to all the world’s hangovers?

The Best Solution:

While everything in this guide it worth a shot, there are really only a couple sure-fire hangover cures.

Tall Glass of Water

Widget_ckg7fbpbtiv7eekdrzzumu

A LOT of water. You need to re-hydrate, so before you go to bed after a night of drinking, chug some down. And keep a glass next to your bed so you can chug some more in the morning. Water heals all!

A Nice Dark Room and a Comfy Bed

If you ask me, the best hangover cure is turning out all the lights and burying your head under the covers for a few extra hours. You might not get your to-do list for the day done, but hey, it’s your own fault!

Try to hit up all these hangover hot-spots BEFORE you get the hangover. You’ll be thanking yourself as you’re stuck in bed not able to bear the thought of leaving your apartment!

Fruit Salad

Like I said before, I love liquids when I’m feeling a bit under the weather and sometimes fruit is the only solid food I can handle. It has to be fresh, and not that nasty fruit salad where every fruit tastes the same.

Panera makes a glorious fruit salad in a nice “easy to take back to your couch” container.

If you’re smart, you’ll plan ahead and take your Emergen-C the night before. Allegedly stocking up on vitamins, not to mention keeping yourself completely hydrated is key to not feeling hungover.

But if you failed to plan ahead, better late than never. Mix up a glass of Emergen-C and down it. It’s actually a lot better-tasting than you probably think. My favorite flavor is acai berry, because I love anything acai berry, but they make tons of not so bad flavors.

Cool and refreshing with lots of fresh fruit? Sounds like BerryLine to me. You may not be able to handle full-blown ice cream when you’re feeling a bit hungover, but BerryLine is perfect because it’s not too sweet, yet it’s perfectly chilled. And you can pick any toppings you want. Mmmm fresh fruit sounds perfect.

Hangover Remedy from HouseholdHacker

Will it work? It’s worth a try anyway!

I’ve never tried Alka Seltzer’s morning relief, but I’m pretty sure it couldn’t hurt. After all, it is getting you to drink water. Might need to pick some of this up at my favorite drug store.

Things NOT To Do:

Don't Take Tylenol

Widget_avbd0xy6lgg4y2s8w2jfoj

Though your head is probably pounding and all you want to do is pop a few tylenol, don’t!! Studies show that drugs with acetaminophen in them, like Tylenol, can cause damage to the stomach.

Don't Drink More

Widget_dahjvhtnfmvy-2e-_fh8qz

Some people swear by “hair of the dog,” but really? Drinking more is not going to help your hangover; it’s just going to dehydrate you more. So instead of taking another shot (haven’t you had enough??), take a pint glass of water.

You should be ashamed you can even think about alcohol after last night!

I thought you might like to know that there is actually an alcohol made from acai berry. It’s called VeeV and it’s supposed to prevent hangovers with its…antioxidants? I’m not joking.

235 years after The Boston Tea Party and we’re still getting drinking tips from Beantown. Surprised? Not me. Sweet guide.

Great tips! I do by the “asprin before collapsing into bed” routine; although it’s not foolproof, it does help.
