"Why would you want to broadcast everything about yourself all over the internet?" someone once asked me, "Oh I don't know because, I crave attention?" HA. No, (well actually yes, that is partially true) but when it comes down to it blogging is a way for people to connect all over the world, to say what's on your mind and have people validate that you aren't as crazy as you feel, to feel HEARD, to connect, to give one too many details. Not all blogs are personal but for some New York City bloggers like Stephanie Klein her online journal got so much attention that a few book deals later she has been able to make a living as a writer, simply by telling her personal story. Then there are all the gossip blogs, recently getting even more attention caused by the Gossip Girl frenzy. Whatever you're into here are some of MY favorite New York City blogs, check it.
One of those bars without the name on the front…..sneaky, sneaky people.

WOMAN: She locked me in a dog crate and poured hot wax on me. Passerby: What kind of sex is she having?!
That’d be a funny one to overhear eh?
Speaking of gossip, did you hear.....
Overheard in New York is HYSTERICAL. People around New York City send in funny/interesting/crazy things that they hear people saying on the streets.
I was really bummed I didn’t know about this site when I heard a guy on Carmine St. saying, “Dude, you totally know this chick…remember, she’s the one with the fake seeing eye dog.”
What was heard: Customer: Can I get an eggplant and mozzarella sandwich? Employee: We outta eggs. Customer: No, not eggs… Eggplant. Employee: We outta eggs. Customer: But eggplant and eggs are two entirely different things… Employee, winking: The customer is always right.

Blogging in cute shoes is really important.
Sort of like Sex and The City, but better.
Stephanie Klein started her blog Greek Tragedy in January of 2004 kept it “unfiltered, straight up and dirty.” By 2005 she was in the top 1% of all blogs and then decided to write her memoir, Straight Up and Dirty.
Stephanie spoke about everything from recovering from a failed marriage, finding new love, dating, SEX, FOOD, family….self discoveries, etc. and because of her truth she launched herself into a whole new career path and acquired a cult following through the process.
From her blog, It’s easy to see why Stephanie would pull so much attention; she is beautiful, witty, vulnerable, intelligent and fierce. My favorite by far.
They’re motto, “Media Gossip and Pop Culture Around the Clock” and indeed it is true. Gawker updates hourly, all the lately gossip, celebrity drama and my favorite part: GAWKER STALKER. You read daily celebrity spotting, locations and what they were doing.
So Gossip Girl huh?
Gawker lets you feel like you’re “in” on all the info you probably shouldn’t know about, which is what most New Yorkers are searching for anyway.
New York gossip blogs are REAL LIFE versions of Gossip Girl
What was heard: Girl: If I ever get arrested, I’ll just punch myself and claim police brutality. Guy: Oh, really? Girl: Yeah, that’s like, one of our rights. We have all kinds of rights. They’re in the amendments. There are like, nine of them.
