This basic guide will help you to shoot great shots of your pets, no matter what kind they are! I love all of mine and this guide shows some of my pets...current and passed on.
The Top Tips to get Great Pet Photo's!
The first and most important: Get down to there level. Shoot at eye level!
The Second: Be patient and plan on spending a good 30 minutes or more just sitting and watching and shooting.
The Third: Get close…you may have to use a zoom lens if you can’t get as close as you want.
The Fourth: Natural lighting is best…try the outdoors!
If you shoot right, you won’t need to edit your photo’s (and may not want to) and the backgrounds can add interest to the picture. Of course if you are O.C.D. like me, then you’ll want to spend hours using Photoshop to change or remove the background…as I did in all of these shots. Check out this guide,
It’s a bit tedious doing the editing, but it creates focus on nothing but the pet and if you’re hanging the photo’s on a wall, they will be cohesive and aesthetically pleasing!
So grab your babies, take them outside and have a blast getting some great shots that you can enjoy for years to come…especially when those pets have moved on from this life. So sad…but you’ll have great memories…both in your mind, your heart and in print!
