What's Your Favorite Trader Joe's Buy?
OK, I know not all of you disadvantaged people out there have a Trader Joe's in your area. For that I offer my most sincere sympathies. For the rest of us, shopping at Trader Joe's can feel like a little party. Bells clanging, fun people, and cheap food and drink lining every shelf! Well, since I had a friend ask me if Trader Joe's is one of my sponsers, I thought that I would give them another FREE lovefest on Guidespot, just because they are so perfect for recession-ish times. Show the love!
Also the best Dismemberment Plan song to come out in years . . .
Edamame Hummus
Creamy goodness. Whoever thought of this deserves a big huge hug. And at only $2.69, it’s lunch for me for two days!! Thanks, TJ’s!
Best served with:
Whole Grain Pita Chips
Crunchy awesomeness to go with the creamy goodness.
Red Tail Ale
Hoppy. Cheap-ish. Solid beer and you’re on your way.
Mochi Ice Cream
So. Freakin. Good.
I’m a mochi maniac and I love that TJ prices these way lower than any other grocery store.
Sunflower Seed Butter
Yum yum yum yum yum. Goes great on a sandwich, fruit, cracker… and it’s smooth oily goodness is perfect for cookies!
Trader Joe's Missteps
Hey, who’s perfect? You only make the mistake of buying one of these once . . .
Sushi
Ugh. It’s really bad. Notice the lack of individual rice grains. Instead there is one solid rice mass. I even wrote them a note about it. Waaaay below TJ’s standards.
Hey, what ever happened to . . .?
I miss these products SO BAD. Yup, you guessed it, many a letter has been written – sigh – to no avail.
At least I can express my sorrow publicly:
Mayan Mix
I still grieve for Mayan Mix, which disappeared about 3-4 years ago with no warning.
The world spins on, as if Mayan Mix had never been here. In fact, this is THE ONLY picture I could find on the interwebz.
This gentleman holds a bag of Mayan Mix in his right hand. He and I alone may know of the sweetness, the saltiness, and the power.
Existence is so fragile . . .
Shu Mai
Best late-night drunk food you will ever make.
Takes 5 minutes. So. Good.
Panda Licorice Bits
You have to bring these to the movies with you and eat with popcorn.
TRUST ME.
ALL of the Beer
Trader Joe’s has SO much beer!!! An amazing selection and super good prices. YAY!

Tarte D' Alsace
Don’t ask me how to say it… or even what it means. If you like pizza, you’ll absolutely love this. It’s light, smoky, and crisp with a creamy sauce. Served with salad, it’s perfect for two.
Sliced Apples
Maybe you think I’m lazy, but I love that I can go to Trader Joe’s and buy apples that have already been sliced for me. And they’re so fresh and good too!

Sesame Sticks!!
One time, I ate nothing but sesame sticks for 48 hours.

Parking here is better (hit the roof level for the best spots) but look out for all the crazies blocking the isle while trying to decide which trail mix to buy.

Dried Apricots
I always pick up a bag of TJ’s dried apricots and promptly devour them shortly thereafter. Sooo good.
