Music That Makes Me Happy

I've already shared great music to listen to when you're mad. Now let's get happy!

The Beatles - "Hey Jude"

Everything about this song is just perfect, from the melody to the inspiration lyrics to the epic na-na-nas.

The Raspberries - "Go All The Way"

Classic early 70s power pop! The lead singer, Eric Carmen, turned into a total wussy later on with “All By Myself.”

No Kids - "I Love the Weekend"

Piano-pop from Canada. What’s not to love?

CSNY - "Our House"

Beautiful song Graham Nash wrote for his then-girlfriend Joni Mitchell.

Fleet Foxes-Textbook Love

Love blossoming in the school hallways=yay!

Fleet Foxes - "Mykonos"

This is my favorite FF song. I’m always singing along to the “You go wherever you go today” part.

Van Morrison - "Sweet Thing"

I know that in this video it sounds like he’s speaking gibberish. But trust me, this is one of the most beautiful, poetic, uplifting songs ever recorded. Too bad this wasn’t as big as a hit as “Domino” or “Brown Eyed Girl” (don’t get me wrong, I love those songs too).

The Sundays - "Summertime"

Most people remember “Here’s Where The Story Ends,” but this is another great song from Harriet Wheeler and company. Sadly, the Sundays broke up shortly after this.

The Ramones - "Blitzkrieg Bop"

Hey, ho, let’s go!

NeverShoutNever - "Happy"

I know that he’s got that emo haircut, but I love his voice and it’s impossible to not sing along with this song.

Vampire Weekend- "Everywhere"

“You know I’m proud and I can’t get the words out, Oh I want to be with you everywhere!”

Aimee Mann and Michael Penn- "Two of us"

I loved so many songs on the I Am Sam soundtrack, but this is one of my favorites. It’s hard to compete with the Beatles, but I think this is an excellent cover. It’s such a happy son!

Hoots and Hellmouth - "This Hand Is A Mighty Hand"

A band out of the Philadelphia area. They have fantastic energy! LOVE them!

"See How I Run" by Jessie Baylin

I don’t know what it is about this song BUT I LOVE IT.
