Post WWII Denver was a prime spot for the modern styles. A few developments were exclusively modern, like Arapahoe Acres, but most of the modern homes are sprinkled throughout the areas developed in the 50s and 60s. The homes were appropriately scaled on their lots, built with sharp, clean lines, used natural materials inside the home (especially Colorado red flagstone), kept a strong connection with the outdoors, and had lots of sun make for Mile High Mid-Century goodness.
Sleeper House
One of the most recognizable modern buildings is just outside Denver. Featured in Woody Allen’s classic 1973 film “Sleeper”, hence the home’s name.
A cool blog of all things to do with modern stuff in Denver.
Krisana Park
1404 S EUDORA ST DENVER, CO 80222
Krisana Park is in Denver proper and could easily be an Eichler development in Palo Alto. They have home tours every year to benefit the local schools.
These guys specialize in mid-century modern real estate throughout the Denver area. Their site also has both a nice guide to the styles and their history in Denver.
Housing Developments
Arapahoe Acres
3058 S CORNELL CIR ENGLEWOOD, CO 80113
This subdivision in Englewood is a national historical district for good reasons. The homes have strong clean lines and obvious Japanese roots.
The Arapahoe Acres website has a lot of information on the development. Each house is listed here, some with detailed descriptions and history. There’s also a section on the history of the development.

Room and Board

Room and Board’s furniture has strong modern influences. They carry some exclusive Eames designs, but my favorite is the Wegner Sawbuck Chair.
