Miami's Hot Spots

The infamous “Mango’s Tropical Café” is located on Ocean Drive. This is definitely a tourist’s favorite place to go, and by far my favorite place. For those of you who haven’t been there, the waitresses do synchronized dancing to Reggae music on the bar wearing very sexy tight animal skin patterned clothing. It’s basically like the movie “Coyote Ugly” but with less clothes and a Reggae theme. They also have a very large drink menu (lots of flavored martinis, margaritas and mojitos) and the food is good too. I’d recommend Mango’s for those of you who are up for a night filled with dancing and fruity drinks. And yes ladies, the guys dance on the bar too!

Wet Willy’s is famous for their enormous selection of frozen drinks. They have over 20 different frozen drink machines to choose from. It’s kind of like going to 711, but this time, all the Slurpees have alcohol in them! See why I like this place? Even better yet, they actually give you tall plasic glasses that you can take with you if you want to venture across the street to beach and have a cocktail while you tan.

I like to think of the “Townhouse” as Miami’s best kept secret. It’s a hotel located on the corner of 20th and Collins (which is the next street over to Ocean Drive). Although it’s a hotel, they have an outdoor rooftop bar that overlooks the entire city. The best part is that the rooftop is filled with red waterbeds that have red umbrellas over them and lots of little tables to place your drinks on. It’s definitely a classy place to grab a drink or two before heading out on the town. It’s even better if you’re looking for a romantic place to hang out and grab a drink with your significant other.

I will say, I’m usually not impressed by dance clubs with loud music and fancy dress attire, but Club Pearl is a great time. It’s located upstairs from “Nikki Beach” but I’m surprised that Pearl doesn’t get as much hype as Nikki Beach does. Sure, it’s nice to sit on beds on the beach and drink, but Pearl is just as cool. When you walk in, there’s lots of fancy bubbly lights, white couches and glass tables (very modern). There’s also dance floors and outside patios. I believe it was actually on the movie “The Fast and the Furious 2” if I’m not mistaken.
