I'm a reality TV junkie. There, I said it. So when this new GEM of a television show came out naturally I had it set on my Tivo to record every episode. There's something oddly amusing about big egos, hot bodies, sunshine and drinking in excess. Which is exactly what you'll see when you watch Miami Social. If you have, or haven't checked the show out on Bravo, here's the rundown:

Who is Sorah????

Widget_bqsscoqwxggks0ahcy218_

“Sorah is a successful business woman who carefully balances work and play. She is a realtor and property manager and also works in the home remodeling industry. Having “been there and done that” with the South Beach party scene, Sorah enjoys chilling at the beach or chic hotel pools, and hitting up the hottest South Beach restaurants for nights out with the girls. Divorced from ladies man George, she still maintains a somewhat complex friendship with him despite their close living quarters – which complicates things with her current boyfriend, Gonzalo, who also lives in the same building."

When Gansevoort South opened in February 2008, it brought the glamour of New York City's trend-setting Hotel Gansevoort to sun-splashed Miami Beach. Located at the north end of Collins Avenue-an area regarded as the next epicenter of South Beach-the original 1960s art deco property has assumed a completely new identity as a contemporary urban lifestyle resort. The lobby offers a one-of-a-kind welcome, with 27 varieties of fish and sharks swimming in a 50-foot-long glass tank. Upstairs, some of the largest guest rooms in South Beach average 600 square feet, most with unobstructed ocean views. The decor combines charcoal-gray suede walls with splashes of magenta and teal and playful pinup photos from the 1930s and 40s. High-tech perks range from wireless Internet and fax lines to DVD-CD players, 40-inch Sony flat-screen televisions, PlayStation3, Sony Dream System stereos, and iPod docks. The stylish, high-tech ambience continues in 45,000 square feet of function space, including a 6,500-square-foot ballroom and six state-of-the-art meeting rooms. Outdoor gatherings take place at the 10,000-square-foot Ocean Terrace; the Beach Club's tri-level, 40,000-square-foot tropical pool deck and dining oasis or the Plunge Rooftop, an 18-story-high retreat with a 22,000-square-foot deck, a 110-foot-long pool, and its own bar and lounge. Add two signature restaurants Philippe Chow and STK, the 42,000-square-foot flagship "David Barton Gym + Spa," and a full city block of luxury boutiques, and Gansevoort South ranks as one of South Florida's most fashionable meeting destinations. Guest rooms strike an alluring balance between elegant simplicity and everyday luxe, with clean lines and neutral shades sprinkled with vibrant splashes of color. Visionary architect Stephen B. Who is Katrina??

Widget_d4geg5_yrliimzpjpc-fnb

“Katrina epitomizes the saying “work hard, play hard.” A no-nonsense approach to business made her a powerhouse at a young age, and she is one of Miami’s hottest real estate agents, ranking in the top 1/2 percent of realtors nationwide. She founded and owns her own real estate brokerage firm, The Campins Company, which caters to an elite clientele, including celebrities and athletes. She was also one of the stars of the first season of The Apprentice. Born and raised in Miami, this Cuban-American bombshell knows the ins and outs of the city and is tapped into the nightlife and a staple on the social scene. Never one to sit still, Katrina finds herself struggling with the rising success of her company versus the romantic lows of her marriage."

Note: You may remember Katrina from The Apprentice.....

The company that takes up the majority of Katrina’s time, that she shares with now ex-husband….will they work it out??? I hope so….

Location of Miami in Miami-Dade County, Florida.Miami is a major city in the southeast corner of Florida, in the United States. Miami and the surrounding metropolitan area are situated on northern Biscayne Bay between the Everglades and the Atlantic Ocean. By population, Miami is the second-largest city in Florida (after Jacksonville), and the county seat and largest city of Miami-Dade County. It is also the largest city in the South Florida metropolitan area, which comprises Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and Palm Beach County, making up the largest metropolitan area in the Southeastern United States and the sixth largest in the country as a whole.Miami was officially incorporated as a city on July 28, 1896, with a voting population of just over 300. In 1940, 172,172 people lived in the city. According to the 2000 census, the city proper had a population of 362,470, while the larger metropolitan area had a population over 5,000,000. The U.S. Census Bureau estimate of the population of Miami in 2004 was 379,724.Miami's explosive population growth in recent years has been driven by internal migration from other parts of the country as well as by immigration. Greater Miami is regarded as a cultural melting pot, heavily influenced both by its very large population of ethnic Latin Americans and Caribbean islanders (many of them Spanish- or Haitian Creole-speaking).The region's importance as an international financial and cultural center has elevated Miami to the status of world city; because of its cultural and linguistic ties to North, South, and Central America, and the Caribbean it is sometimes called "The Gateway of the Americas." Miami ranks along with Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte, and New Orleans, as one of the most important business centers in the Southeastern United States.

I'd watch out for the chick with the knife....

she may actually use it. Lina is George’s INSANE girlfriend who seems to solve all of their problems with the promise of a hot and steamy evening in the bedroom after their argument. Is that why he’s sticking around? Seems like it to me. She cuts his clothes, yells at his friends, throw things and generally acts like a nut job. AND surprise, surprise- LINA works in realty also.

So this is the place behind Lina’s random trips to St. Barts eh??

Who is Maria???

Widget_axvepjqo9oh6ltgdxikygs

“Maria is a no-nonsense Russian bombshell who has taken Miami by storm. After moving to the city in 2005, it took her no time to make a mark on the scene, and only is seen at the chicest spots in South Beach. She currently works as an art director and freelance photographer after studying at the prestigious Miami Ad School, and has had the opportunity to travel the world for her job. She describes herself as “forward, rebellious and fiery,” but is a passionate and devoted mom to 13-year-old Angelika."

THE MOST UNLIKEABLE CHARACTER OF THEM ALL:

Who is Ariel??

Widget_cnzn20u1xeybhjscmysehw

“Ariel is one of the key players in the Miami nightlife scene, a regular at the hottest parties and clubs in town and always on the VIP list. Never one to sit still, he works as one of Miami’s premiere fashion producers and also serves as Vice President of one of the family business, 20/20 Vision Management, Inc. Ariel counts his social life as his other occupation, and is personal friends with some the top fashion designers and celebrities. There is never a dull moment with Ariel, who considers the posh area of South Beach his personal playground. Tapped into the fashion, entertainment and celebrity world of Miami, Ariel continues to make his mark as part of the fast-paced “It Crowd.”

Ariel said the famous and disgusting line of the season, "GET THAT FAT GIRL OUT OF MY TABLE....."

Ariel's shallow moment #2:

“What if you were born an ugly girl?” he asks rhetorically. “I mean, you can be an ugly guy, but an ugly girl? That’s so depressing, every day waking up and knowing that you’re ugly.”

“George is the quintessential “man about town” in South Beach. He is a high-powered mortgage banker and also owns his own investment and consulting firm, and says making money is one of his primary hobbies. George is divorced from fellow castmate Sorah. They still live in the same apartment building and have remained close friends, despite his fiery and tumultuous relationship with current girlfriend Lina. By day, George’s focus is on his career, but by night, he’s regularly seen around South Beach and is a regular at the hottest clubs in town. I know everybody exagerates a little in a reality show, otherwise there would be 0 ratings… what i love about Miami Social is the girl’s style. They are gorgeous. Ok, first, please somebody tell me all the info about SORAH’s off white wrap dress, the one whe wore at a dinner with George, when he called her “crazy”. Nr 2: MARIA’s off white, beige shorts she wore when Ariel picked her up for that lingere campaign interview, she paired it with a plaid dark and pink vest over a short sleeved shirt/t-shirt. Gorgeous style! Thanks MARIANA bjartemariana@hotmail.com
