On any given night, any one of these Denver restaurants will have something on the menu that will make me smile...maybe even do a little dance!

Duo Restaurant

2413 W. 32nd Ave. (at Zuni), Denver , Co 80211

303-477-4141

Located in Highland, Duo is a casual, unassuming place to go on a date, or gather with a few friends. Seasonal menus, using local produce, are a specialty of this restaurant. Often, special theme dinners are available. Get on the email list for updates. Reservations are recommended, as the space is fairly small, although I have never felt like I was dining with the table next to me.

Venice Ristorante & Wine Bar

1700 Wynkoop St Denver, Colorado

Venice Restaurant on Wynkoop has my favorite Happy Hour Menu. An extensive small plate offering of non-traditional snacks as well as a variety of good quality wines by the glass. Try the Squash Ravioli. All plates are $3.50. Wines by the glass are $5-6. Best of all…Happy Hour is all day! (11-7 and 9-11).

The main dining room is more formal… too formal for my taste. But, if you are looking for a leisurely paced dinner over a couple bottles of wine, you will definitely be treated very well.

In good weather, the outside patio is always bustling. Watch for the wind tho, on some breezy summer nights, its difficult to keep control of the napkins!

Table 6

609 Corona St Denver, Colorado

A classic american bistro. Relaxing ambience and a menu to die for! Always busy.

Just ate at Table 6 for Sunday brunch…chef puts an interesting spin on some classics. Two Eyed Susan: a grown up version of Egg-in-the-hole. Yummy…

Deluxe

30 S. Broadway Denver, Colorado

Date spot, Small Plates, Trendy Scene, Decent wine list. Right next door, is a lounge, DeLites that has a garage door window which opens out to the street with a spectacular view of the most upscale Goodwill shop in town! A good spot for a little nosh before movies at the Mayan, or catching a show at the Hi Dive!

Lola

1575 Boulder St, Denver, CO 80211

Lola has a very interesting menu serving cuisine inspired by Mexico’s coastal regions. The tableside guacamole is ab-fab! The coin style margaritas can really sneak up fast! Beware!

Weekend brunch 10-2 Saturday and Sunday on the patio is a perfect way to lounge away a good part of the day!

Jax Fish House

1539 17th St Denver, Colorado

Excellent seafood menu, busy lively restaurant, great people watching. Outside patio is great for drinks, and now has a few tables for al fresco dining.

Frasca Food and Wine

1738 Pearl St Boulder, Colorado

Italian food like you’ve never tasted before! And, probably the best wine list in the entire Denver area.

This is a really fresh and interesting guide. Kudos for thinking out of the box! I might have to…adapt…this idea for SF. Full props (and a link back) to your guide, I swears!
