The guide to social kick-backs in Denver
Paris on the platte
1553 Platte Street Denver, CO 80202
Paris On The Platte
This is the perfect lounge for the ‘in-scene’ Kings and Queens. Being the only place in Denver left with a license to allow smoking, this coffee shop has gained more than just a reputation for its unique beverage menu and tasty eats. Its the perfect spot to relax around your macbook, coffee, imported cigarettes and art. The brick walls collect purchasable art featured by local artists and the music is selectively chosen by the few ‘indie-rock’ employee’s. You’re no hipster if you haven’t taken the time to kick back at Paris on the Platte.
The Marquis Theatre
2009 Larimer St. Denver, CO 80202
The Marquis Theatre (venue)
The Marquis, located on 21st and Larimer Street, is the best way to see a quality band- whether local or touring- at a low price. There’s no other popular venue that prices tickets at no more than 16$, creating the scene of a packed room filled with a fun crowd. The small size of the venue creates a personalized feel. While the bar is sectioned off from the general admission area, it’s equally as close to the stage allowing those of age to enjoy the show with a drink in hand.
Bump and Grind
439 E 17th Ave Denver, CO 80203
Bump and Grind
Expect the unexpected. Bump and Grind is a restaurant/cafe rated as one of the most unique places in Denver. Where the menu is just as tasty and original as the cross-dressing waiters and the funky, retro atmosphere. That’s right. The hottest drag queens in town come out for the weekend festive and bring the party! -with a “whatever! whenever!” type attitude. The whole dining experience at Bump and Grind is a humorous mind trip that will keep you on you’re toes. Expect a wait if you’re planning on ordering the banana waffles. But take it from a pro, it’s well worth the wait! :) and believe me, you’ll remain entertained.
Pete's Kitchen
962 E Colfax Ave Denver, CO 80206
Pete's Kitchen
Known in Denver for the best late night eats. Located on Colfax close major venues such as the Ogden and the Filmore. If you’re looking for somewhere to get some grub after a late night of dancing along to you’re favorite band, Pete’s Kitchen is definitely the place to hit up! There’s nothing wrong with getting some breakfast at 3 in the morning, and Pete’s kitchen is best known for its breakfast burritos! Check it out
