Sad and lonely? Put on your lollerskates and get out and enjoy yourself. Life is too short to wallow when there's a whole interweb out there filled with ridiculous photos, videos, and captioned cats.
Because nothing is funnier than people's misfortune/talking cats/passive aggressiveness/failure/white people.
Da funniest site on da interwebz, lolcatz make even da saddest hooman laff.
The History of the LOL
From Wikipedia:
LOL (also written lol and any other combination) is a common element of Internet slang used, historically, on Usenet but now widespread to other forms of computer-mediated communication, and even spread to face-to-face communication. It is an abbreviation for “laughing out loud“[1][2] or “laugh out loud”.[3]
...and although there are plenty more ethnic groups out there, I’ll let you research this one on your own. Needless to say, if you ever wanted to know what Lebanese like, or what Sri Lankans like, I guarantee you…it’s out there.
Okay, so this may not be “ha ha” funny, but unless you’re the time to get all activist every time a Republican opens their mouth, then I guarantee Michelle Malkin’s blog will at least get an eye roll out of you.
Uh…what’s really funny is that Perez Hilton actually thinks he looks like the cartoon guy at the top of his blog header. Um, no. But the scribbly drawings and constant commentary can keep you lollerskating for a little while, anyway.
Do you remember those creepy little creatures that sang “we like the suuuuubs” for Quiznos a few years back? This is the site that birthed them. Please, check out Hover Bacon.
Before okcupid.com was just another (okay, maybe not JUST another) dating site, it was Spark.com, where the owners did absurd things like bet two people they couldn’t gain 30 pounds in 30 days. Although the “humor” section of Okcupid.com is really only a shell of its former self, you can still giggle at seeing a rather good looking chick stuff doughnuts down her trap in an effort to become obese.
