This place is as golden as one those legendary secret caches of Cherry Steamboat Pow Pow (snowboarder for ‘fresh powder.’) Tucked behind the shops in Ski Times Square, The Butcher Shop joyfully lacks the snotty ambiance of most resort steakhouses. It is, however, loaded with remarkably historic charm, 1870-ish antique western surroundings and buttery delicious steaks with no fiscal hangover.

I never thought “family-friendly” would become so important to me when I was in my twenties. Ten years later, pizza, pasta and a great kids menu with fast service gets my vote week in and week out.
