Les Enfants Terribles

I found this trendy hole in the wall spot on CitySearch. The description there painted it to be an underground hipster hangout with solid Algerian fare. Reservations were highly recommended and were welcomed by the host when I called. Spot is extremely small with the bar taking up the majority of the room. Bartender is friendly and attentive, but you may want to skip the pricey not-so-dirty roomtemperature martini for some tasty appetizers. The room is dimly lit with foreign music playing overhead (though there was a turntable next to the bar, perhaps they have DJs on certain nights). The waitstaff was friendly, the menu was fair (remember, you are in NYC) and the food quite tasty. Algerian, I found, is similar in flavor to Ethiopian and partial in ingredients to French (go figure). This place rocks the Casbah.
