You could try to have a karaoke party at home, but you will have to 1) find a karaoke machine 2) find the latest songs and 3) do all the cleanup yourself :-(

Most karaoke machines are good for single person use, however the sound is generally not powerful enough for a whole party. Adding the latest songs is very difficult. First parents have to find out what songs their kids like, then they have to purchase of specialized CDs. During the party these CDs have to be continually swapped in and out of the machine. Surely there is a better way…?

Private Karaoke Rooms first became popular in Japan in the 1980s. They are mainly used by business people at night and by schoolkids during the daytime who rent the rooms by the hour to sing with their friends or colleagues.

How it works

Each Private Karaoke Room is customized to have an awesome karaoke experience. Rooms have a karaoke machine that already has thousands of songs preloaded and ready to add to a playlist. Songs are usually updated each month so kids can choose their favorite Top 40 hits.

Each room is also set up with wireless microphones, monitors to read lyrics, and a professional sound system. Some rooms even have stages.

Parents simply pay for a package deal, usually around $12 per child for a two-hour party. All parents need to do is to send invitations and bring a cake!
