The 5280 city has a lot of kid stuff for those occasional non-sunny days.

One of the big attractions in the city for a reason. This zoo is constantly rebuilding and improving itself, so the enclosures are nicely done. The primate exhibit is a family favorite, mainly because the kids love the two gorilla families housed at the zoo.

The DMNS is amazing. The permanent exhibits include an interactive space science setup, a large dinosaur walk-through, an IMAX screen, a separate 360 digital planetarium, and lots of stunning dioramas. Plus there are traveling exhibits that are always great.

This place is packed on the weekends for a reason. There are separate sections for different ages. The toddlers and under area is isolated from the rest of the museum, so no big kids running around. There’s a Denver fire engine as a big play area, which is great. Upstairs is for bigger kids, there are painting sections, a basketball court, a big wooden train room, and more.

The DAM has great kids activities on the weekends, don’t be afraid to bring the little ones. They have kid friendly stations throughout the museum, each with fun activities.

Denver

Probably more for parents than kids, the Denver Botanic Gardens are a nice quiet walk around beautiful settings.

Denver has a decentralized library system with lots of local branches, but the main building is fun for the kids. It’s big, so you have a nice indoor walking space, plus the kids section is huge.

This is an upscale mall with Tiffany and Cartier stores, but it has a great indoor play area for kids. It’s a “giant breakfast” themed space with big breakfast food pieces for kids to jump around on. And it’s nicely contained with a single entrance and exit, so keeping track of the kids is relatively easy.
