It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you've got. -Sheryl Crow
Oh how things have changed within a years' time, no? My life of last year is a world away of where I thought it would be right now. I listed some big 'uns below. So. What 'choo got now that you didn't have last year at this time? What are you doing now that you weren't doing last year? How has your life changed?
I have a new boyfriend.
His name is Ben(ji) and he is four months old. Produced by one of my bff’s (oh … and her husband), he makes my heart melt everytime I see him.
Of course, a too new for photos addition to my friendamily arrived just a few days ago. That lil’ Amelia might give me some competition. I mean, really, what’s she got on me? (Besides being significantly closer in age and absolutely beautiful.)
I am addicted to my BlackBerry Pearl
After my cheap, generic, sucky, crappy, dumb phone was stolen I treated myself to a delicious, addictive, intoxicating and RED (is my favorite color) BlackBerry Pearl.
I haven’t even started to run this baby at full speed and I break into cold sweats if it’s not within grabbing distance.
It ain’t no joke when they call ’em a crackberry.
I have begun my teaching certification, a year of teaching under my belt, an apartment with my husband and cat, and I have paid off one of the credit cards that helped me get here! Whew!
GOING BACK TO SCHOOL
I decided to go back to school to develop a portfolio to find my dream job.

A Tribeca residence
Under strange circumstances, it was financially better to move from Brooklyn to Tribeca. These are the situations I’m known for, so there it is. Never thought I’d leave my beloved BK! But damn, look at that kitchen!
I'm the "old" student taking college courses.
It was finally time to start working towards what I really want to be when I grow up. And, as of yesterday, I am on my first “winter break” in ten years.
Oddly enough, college buildings still smell the same.
Double oddly enough, I refer to the other people in my class as “the kids”.
(It’s oh so odd to be a grown-up.)
I'm building up my freelancing portfolio
2008 marks the first year I’ve really followed through on a resolution…ever. And this year, I vowed to take steps towards doing what I really loved for a living.
So, during this past year, I’ve taken on two side gigs freelancing, which — despite trying to juggle them while working full time — I absolutely L.O.V.E. I still have yet to perfect my time-management (hey, I’ve got a mortgage to pay…so my corporate salary is priority # 1 — boo!) but I can’t describe the pride I feel that I’ve actually made headway in an area that I really am passionate about. And I hope that 2009 is even better!

I am NOT able to jog the same distance.
Yes. I am a slacker. I haven’t seen the inside of my gym in approximately 6 months. In fact, I barely remember where my membership card is.
It’s time to dust off the old running shoes and get back on the tready!
I’m having my first ever SOLO show and I get to make music everyday :)
