Who doesn't love Chinese food? Sitting on the couch with those white take-out containers and just digging in to that delicious greasiness. Whether it's lo mein you love or chicken fingers dunked in duck sauce, you're sure to find it at one of the bazillion Chinese restaurants in Boston. Even if you're more of a steamed veggies over brown rice kinda person, you'll have no trouble getting it.
With all of the Chinese restaurants in Boston, it can be hard to find one you want to remain loyal to. How will you know the scallion pancakes will have the perfect amount of grease? And what if the pu pu platter only comes with 2 crab rangoons and there are 3 of you? Here at Guidespot, we like to make sure we're getting the best Chinese food possible. So, tell us your recommendation for the best Chinese restaurant in Boston.
I don’t really know how late this place stays open, but I know I’ve been in here at 2 a.m. and they still seem to be sitting people.
I can’t say I’m super crazy about the service, but the food is probably exactly what you’re craving after a night of drinking (or whatever else you’re doing at 1 a.m.).
The chicken isn’t scary like in most Chinese restaurants. Even in the chicken fingers, it’s simply white meat. And the scallion pancakes are to die for!
Last time I was there, my friend and I were the only non-Asian people in the place. That makes me believe the food is somewhat authentic; but whatever the case, I’ll be back!

Not only is the Chinese food just fab, but check out their lobster deal. OK, so I think the price went up to $15.95, but still. For 2 lobsters??? Best deal in town!
I have nothing but great things to say about Chef Chang’s in Brookline – this was our go-to spot for Chinese food when we lived nearby, and I miss it to this day. It’s clean and friendly (making it a great place to take visiting friends or family) and serves up the tastiest Chinese food around.

The Shang, as my friends and I so lovingly call it, is a go-to late night Chinese place, conveniently located near Fanueil Hall. I used to go to the Shang all the time until I pissed off the bartender, but it was great until then.
Highly recommended is the Scorpion Bowl, chicken fingers, scallion pancakes, chicken lo-mein, and crab ragoons.
For those of you who like Chinese buffets, the Shang has a lunch buffet that I went to once. TONS of food for really cheap, and the food was good!

You wouldn’t think of baked goods being Chinese, but there are many different types of cakes, cookies, and tarts that originate in China. Maxim Bakery in Chinatown is probably the best overall bakery in all of Boston specializing in Chinese baked goods. I highly recommend the Sponge Cake (especially if you can get it right when it’s out of the oven!), Egg Tart, Strawberry Shortcake, and anything with Red Bean Paste!
