The only inauguration guide you need to read
A few weeks ago I was asked to put together a guide incorporating Obama, the inauguration and technology. Being the super genius that I am, I agreed. Fool. After thinking about it, what could I possible write that A. supplied enough content for a substantial guide and B. be interesting as well as original. This is neither A or B. Instead of putting my brain to use an actually working, I thought that I would write about how YOU were using technology and geekery to share your excitement about Obama. Here we go!
Obama has won over my geeky little heart. He has understood the power of the Internet and social networking better than any other candidate. He has appeared in Xbox 360 games, developed an iPhone app and used Twitter to reach out to this generation.
Why should you be the only one with the cool shirts? Someone at Cafe Press thought it would be a great idea to dress pooch up as well.
You can take a picture with your webcam or submit a photo from your computer and “Obamicon” yourself. We all know iconic poster made famous by Shepard Fairey – it’s lining the streets of Chicago! Now is your chance to sound off, no matter what side you were rooting for.
Ustream.TV
Ustream.TV will broadcast everything live and for free! And not only that, but if you have an iPhone, Ustream has created an iPhone viewing application so you can watch the inauguration live – directly from your cell phone.
Ustream has officially been added to Apple’s App Store. It’s free so you have no excuse not to download it.
Wanna go to the Obama Inauguration but don’t have 2-3 days to take off from work? Here’s a guide on how to see everything you need to see in 24 hours or less.
A list of who’s doing what in Chicago during the inauguration.
A fun guide reminding inauguration goers to be safe!
Obamania has been sweeping the nation and frankly it’s starting to get scary. Don’t get me wrong, I like Barack Obama as much as the next guy, but some people have taken this stuff WAY too far…
This is a video put together by Blagica Stefanovski Bottigliero on Election Night in Grant Park.
So many people have shared photos and videos from that night and I love checking them out.
Great News!!!
Obama will be allowed to keep his BlackBerry for personal use. Anything government-related will have to be handled on a NSA-approved phone.
After a very historic day, the Etsy shop is officially sold out of these T-shirts.
Because you haven’t heard/seen this before, right?
Could the inauguration be at a worse time? Seriously, 11 a.m. on a Tuesday? So for people who will be at work and unable to park in front of a TV, there are other options. The NY Times put together a list of web sites that will be providing online coverage of the event.
CNN/Facebook – You log into Facebook direct from CNN’s live site, watch the inauguration, and watch your friends’ status updates in real-time.
People are excited to see what this tech-friendly President will do with his new digs. Did you know that Obama hopes to be the first President to put a laptop on his desk in the Oval Office?
This is pretty damn impressive. The link below this has more photos of the recreation of the inauguration.
Ba Rock It.
Who won’t be wearing one of these tomorrow? Me! That’s who! Why? Well it’s not because don’t love the man, I do. I’m just forgetful and didn’t remember to purchase one in time. Eff!
