Whenever I meet someone who tells me they don't enjoy candy I question their sanity. Who the F doesn't like candy? That is just awfully strange, good for your waistline but devastating to your soul. I was the kid who had the ability to bribe ANYONE to feed me dessert before dinner and as an adult, I've become that person who has "candy stashes." You can almost always find a Jolly Rancher or something gummy and covered with sugar in my purse. Candy is an area I am very proficient in, almost as much I am in liquor. Hm. Candy and liquor together....is there a better combination than that? Liquor flavored candy maybe?
Start with the classics:
Yes, Australian kiwi flavored licorice may be amazing, but before you go exotic you must know your CLASSICS first. Candy is historical, you aren’t allowed to fast forward to the advanced things like sugary mango bites, or bacon flavored chocolate (yes, that is REAL) without understanding/appreciating the basics. Please, before you go onto Vosges Kalamta olive and white chocolate infused chocolate bar, try an orange flavored chocolate first.
Classic candies are the ones everyone knows, the candies your parents and grandparents enjoyed. The classics never fail. On Halloween, when in doubt Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup it out.
Stop by your local convenience store to pick up the classic goodness PEOPLE PLEASERS:
M & M’s
Hershey’s
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Twizzlers
Snickers
Tootsie Rolls/ Tootsie Pop
Sugar Babies
Laffy Taffy
Pop Rocks
CLASSICS that get overlooked:
Atomic Fireballs
Oh Henry
Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip
Charleston Chew Chocolate
Bit-O-Honey
Boston Beans
Pixy Stix
Razzles
Abba-Zaba
JAWBREAKERS!!!!
Pez

Everyone enjoys a candy bar and unless you’re a health nut, most people enjoy fried food. What about FRYING a candy bar?!?!?! Oh yesssss, bring on the caloric/grease shock, my body is ready for it.
The Chipshop has all your classic favorites, deep fried: Mars Bar, Twix, Bounty, Snickers, TWINKIES (which takes it to a whole different level) and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
This is the face I make before devouring pounds of chocolate, unfortunately my boobs don’t look that big.
If I could....
I would BATHE in chocolate. Chocolate body paint? Absolutely, if I don’t manage to eat it all with a spoon first. Though technically it is a dessert, I believe the best time to enjoy a piece of rich, creamy chocolate (dark, milk or white) is in the morning with a cup of Joe. I am very grateful to the combination of the two beans.
Truffles or Bon Bons, decorated fancy chocolates, drinkable chocolates, caramels (in case you have chocolate overload) gift chocolates, all of it, right here. Conveniently located in Henri Bendel so you can feel guilty spending all of your money and binging on chocolate. Cheers.

Truffles used to be too rich for my taste, that was until I tried the Blood Orange truffle infused with Grand Marnier….ok. I was hooked, I don’t think any other truffle can top that one. Other fancy chocolates I was apprehensive of until I tried them: Black Sesame Truffle, Green Tea Truffle, Thai Chili Truffle, and the Honey Saffron. Kee’s takes chocolate “out of the box.”

Each of MarieBelle’s chocolates are little pieces of art. Each design is a different flavor: Earl Grey Tea, Lavender, Pistachio, Champagne, Caipirinha and more. The perfect gift, or a treat for yourself :)

See, I used to argue that a Candy Apple wasn’t really candy….then I tried a Candy Apple Martini and realized, that I was WRONG. Because though apple is indeed a fruit the candy coating flavor mixed with vodka, is straight- CANDY.

The closest thing to The Willy Wonka Factory ever. There are so many varieties, old and new, rare and classic, sweet, salty, sugar-free, EVERYTHING. Oh and since its really difficult to find candy cigarettes anymore (those were my favorite) you’ll have to pick them up here. You can even try a chocolate flavor. How’s that for awesome?

CELEBRATE THE BUTTERCREAM!
When I get a box of chocolates, like on Valentines Day for instance I am not the kind of person who pokes a hole in the bottom of each chocolate to find the caramel one (which is square by the way) instead, I find GREAT pleasure in not knowing what to expect when I bite into a chocolate. Raspberry, orange, strawberry, ALL of the flavors stimulate and excite me! That’s right, I am stimulated by buttercream.
