Community I Love and Hate Every Month in Boston

Share on StumbleUpon Add to del.icio.us Share on Facebook

Every month in Boston is my favorite month for a completely different reason. Whether it's the changing of the seasons or the various events that occur, each month has something I love. Oh, and something I hate too.

I've always said I wouldn't be able to live in a city that has no changing of seasons. I love the seasons, and as much as I may complain when the snow is coming down, I would seriously miss the winter if I didn't have it.

What do you love about each month in Boston? Hate? Feel free to add more than one thing to each month!

I LOVE BOSTON IN:

January

Walking around the North End

I love walking around the North End in the winter. The North End is always such a mob scene during the summer… I always avoid it. There’s something so nice about walking around there when no one is out, enjoying a cappuccino inside Mike’s and people watching.

Fall in Boston

I love October in Boston because that’s when the true fall weather sets in. And the leaves really start changing. I highly enjoy walking through the park (seen above) with a nice fleece on and the leaves crunching under my feet.

I HATE BOSTON IN:

January

February

Filthy snow

Around about February is when winter reeeeeaaly starts to annoy me. It’s no longer festive, and we’re sick of shoveling and so ready for spring. The worst part? The snow starts to look dirty and ugly (thanks the all of the auto exhaust) instead of like a beautiful blanket of white.

Back to College

While September is generally one of my favorite months, in Boston it means the return of the college students. And in my eyes, that is not a good thing. Now that I’m “older,” I despise going out and standing in lines with college kids, pushing my way around the city with college kids, and worst of all, being mistaken for a college kid. Ugh!
