Take one dude whose camper van tried to kill him, add one paid-for Honda CR-V, plus one part liberal arts imagination, plus one dad with a garage and tools, subtract the back seats. Stir in a little bit of time and effort, and you wind up with a 4WD extrememobile capable of hauling two extreme athletes and all their gear for outdoor adventures.

Seriously. We got along great, and had a lovely trip. It actually turned us into a bit of a well oiled machine, since it was way easier to “work together” on setting up the CR-V for whatever “mode” we were in, than trying to “work together” to setup and take down camping gear (which for some reason always turns into a spat)…
