How to Figure Out What You Should Do
When trying to figure out what activities and things to do with your little sis, try and think about the things that you have seen her doing. The week before you sister date, try to notice things she takes an interest in. Play games with her, and let her pick out what you should play. Watch her favorite shows with her, and ask her what her favorite movies are. Find out her favorite snacks and treats. Find out her favorite colors, her favorite animal, favorite songs, etc. All of these things will help you to get to know your little sister better, and will also help you in trying to get an idea as to what you should do on your day together.
What to Feed Her:
Today in order to make your little sister feel like the princess she is, you could make her breakfast, lunch, dinner, or all of those meals. Some lovely breakfast ideas you could cook her are chocolate chip pancakes, waffles, or french toast, or for the extremely ambitious: crepes! Lunch menu items could include any kind of sandwich. To make the sandwich more appealing to the eye and just cute in general, use a cookie cutter to give it a shape. When asking my eight year old sister what she thought of when she thought of yummy dinner items that reminded her of being fancy she thought of italian food. How easy would it be to cook spaghetti or a homeade alfredo? For any of these meals you could cook them for her, or for even more quality time, you could cook it with her! Make sure you let her know what a fantastic and beautiful little chef she is. If you need recipes for food or ideas for food check your mom’s cookbooks or see if your grandma has any special recipes she would like to hand down. Still can’t find anything? Try the Food Network online. They have hundreds of meals and desserts to choose from.
Movie Time
To end your amazing and busy day with your little sis try doing something relaxing! How about watching a movie? It could be a movie that she has seen before, or a movie neither of you have seen. Disney classics are always a good and safe choice if you are surprising her, but to ensure that she falls in love with the movie you choose (if she’s not in love already) take her to the movie store with you. Blockbuster offers many different choices and probably the widest selection of movies. Accounts to sign up there are free, you just have to be over 18. If you aren’t over 18, have a parent come with you to help set up an account for you so that you are able to rent movies. It will probably cost a little less than five dollars to rent a movie, so you won’t need to be rich to do this. :)
Other good choices for movies are the ever so popular High School Musical 1 & 2. Its cute, funny, wholesome, and filled with great music. If you are seeking a more comedic movie, try any of the Shrek movies, Ice Age 1 & 2, or any of Pixar’s newer films. I’m sure any movie you choose will be something your sister will love. How could she not love what you have chosen? Your her big sister who she loves very very much.
After you have chosen your movie and you are at home, pop a bag of popcorn and blankets. You could make a fort with your lil’ sis for something super fun, or if you are just too tired from the day’s adventures, cuddle up with your sister under the blankets.
Want to Decorate Where Your Princess Eats?
You can head to your local party shop to buy her a cute princess crown to wear while eating, or if you have one at home, use one of those. If your sister isn’t a “girly girl”, try and pick something she may take more of a liking too. To make the table look special, get a table cloth, place it on the table, and sprinkle confetti all over it. If your sister likes soccer more than she does dress up, buy some confetti that has a soccer theme, or any kind of theme you feel she will like. Party stores have a wide assortment of table decorations you can get to make the area look special in a fast and easy manner.
For those of you that don’t have any money or would like to spend your money on other activities to do with your sister, use any kind of gift wrap or butcher paper to create your table scape. How often do you get to tell your little sister it’s okay to color on the table? If you use butcher paper as your table cover, you can provide your sister with crayons and markers so the two of you may color together while eating. Not only does she get to color “on the table,” the two of you can keep your creation and save it to remember your sister date.
