With the economy in "a pickle," the election, and the holidays knocking at our doorstep, it's definitely a stressful time for most. Even when Wall Street isn't crashing, my Mother starts cleaning more thoroughly or lashing out at unnecessary moment, over unnecessary things once Halloween is over. It's like the stress of thinking about Thanksgiving, who's hosting, who's cooking and Christmas; what are we buying? Do we have enough money? etc. etc. is enough to turn her into one of Satan's spawns. Stress if part of life, true, it's just a matter of how we DEAL with it. Or if we deal with it at all. So tell me, maybe I can take some of your tips and you can try some of mine. How do YOU handle stress?
I eat sweet things....
Interesting, because when I’m stressed this is usually the time I find it most appropriate to order dessert everywhere I go.

When something is penned, “Dessert Bar” you can guarantee that this will be a place I frequent often. Bar/Dessert, yep. I love both. The tasting plates are my favorite cause you don’t have to make one choice, just sample a bit of everything.
I’m with you on the sweets thing, but in addition to eating them when stressed, I MAKE them. There is never NOT homemade dessert in my house. I kid you not.
I take a LONG bath with a nice playlist
Movies always make taking baths look like a much more common thing than they actually are. I take a long bath when I’m really bored, sore, or stressed. Which, luckily, none of those things happen very often. Though, when I do decide to have a “bath night” I have the candles, the bubbles, and most importantly the music.
Lil' Wedding Porn.
If I’m feeling terribly stressed out, I take a gander through the bazillion photos of my recent wedding. Sure, they warm the heart with the whole “eternal love” thing, but mostly they just remind me how glad I am that I am no longer making phone calls that have to do with chair covers, bridesmaid dresses, or roasted lamb for 400+ people.
Stress? Please.
Jumping Jacks
I can’t stress after about 10. I mean. Really? Jumping Jacks? It’s a pretty goofy sight!
I clean my house, obsessively.
This is insane for me. I don’t clean. I’m a messy/artist/sagittarius….meaning, I work better when there is a lot of clutter around me. However, all rules are exempt when I’m stressed about something. I will get on my hands and knees and scrub the sideboards, it’s that intense.

Having an abundant supply of yummy smelling soaps, shower gel and fizzy bubbles is seriously important when you’re in need of a relaxing night. Try smells with lavender and vanilla and they’ll have you feeling alll cozy and relaxed.

Stress be Gone
I watch the complete third season of Good Times and hilarity ensues. You can’t stay stressed for too long with JJ Walker in your living room.
Baked Cheetos
Back in undergrad, most Elissa P. term papers were handed in with orange corners.
