The climbing rates of gas prices are surprising. Do not lose hope! This guide will provide you with several easy methods to find cheap gas, if you are forced to keep using gas, and will also provide you with many alternative transportation suggestions.

The best place for locating and comparing area gas stations updated daily.

The most informative site is a joint effort by the US DOE and EPA.

This super incredible site contains How Hybrid Vehicles Work and Their Tax Incentives, Ultra-low Sulfur Diesel and Biodesel Vehicles, Alternative Flex-Fuel Vehicles and How Fuel Cells Work, Fuel Cost Calculator, Where You Can Buy E85 for the Ethanol Vehicles, Extreme MPG videos, Find the Lowest Gasoline Prices, Tips for Driving More Efficiently, and Much, Much More!

Sometimes it costs less to buy more expensive gas closer to home.

Many people will drive far out of the way to buy gas that is one cent cheaper.  Per one cent cheaper gas, and for a 10 gallon tank, this will save you ten cents, and for a 20 gallon tank, this will save you twenty cents.  Driving one mile costs you 27 cents at 15m/g, 20 cents at 20m/g, 16 cents at 25m/g, 13 cents at 30m/g, and 10 cents at 40m/g.  In many cases, this means you will spend more going to get the cheap gas than you will save on the fill up.

One that sparked my interest is regarding idling your car. Most sources say that you burn from half a gallon to 1 gallon of gas per hour idling your engine. And that you use about the same amount of gas idling your engine for 10 to 30 seconds as you use to restart your car. Just don’t turn your car off while in traffic.

Other location ideas.

Lots of grocery stores and warehouses, like Sam’s club, have fueling stations too.
