Three instructional videos teaching you, in an entertaining way, how to use some of the basic html tags, particularly as it corresponds to MySpace blogs.

How to Do Stuff on MySpace

Greetings folks!  Joko here.  This is my first ever post here on GuideSpot, which touts itself as being very user friendly and allowing people to create interesting and informative content without having to be a “techy”.  What a noble concept!  I like it!

I’ve been on the internet for 20 years, but always fell somewhere in the middle of the technical prowess spectrum.  There are those users who know how to use the arcane stuff like JavaScript and XMS, created all their own html and get worried that their bandwidth is  being stolen when you borrow their pictures in your blog.  Some of these folks take great pride in their geekiness, and their techy skills come off as being haughty.  Then there are those on the other end of the spectrum, who see a “<“ sign and immediately turn off.  They see html and roll their eyes and say, “Oh, I’m not techy!  I can’t DO that!”.  They don’t even try.

There are far more of the latter group than the former, but I got issues with both.

Me, I’m somewhere in between.  I’m not a computer programmer, but I’m not afraid to enter a little code from time to time to make my creativity more interesting.

I come here from the land of MySpace, in which knowing a bit of html is very handy.  Wanting to share this knowledge… umm… actually…. I just got sick of looking at effed up blogs, I thought I would dshare some of what I learned in the form of instructional videos.

The first one covers one the basics of html, how to make a link.

Next I moved on to how to post pictures anywhere using html tags.

Lastly (and this one actually came first, but as it covers a relatively obscure topic, I put it last)  How to post videos in your blog.

Nice guide Joko! I just finished my first HTML project for an ITM class. I created a webpage that looks like it was made by a 2nd grader. Your HTML tips are way better.
