Being 20-something and generally broke, I'm all for free entertainment. Luckily Houston provides plenty of fun, free things to do for those of us who are, dare I say it, financially "challenged". One of those great, free places is the Art Car Museum. Located at 140 Heights Blvd, in Houston's historic heights area, the Art Car Museum provides a contemporary exhibit of local, national, and even international artists. It's main emphasis is on art cars, but the museum also displays other exhibits by artists who are not widely known. Even the museum's funky, creative exterior is a sight to behold. If you live in Houston and haven't been to, or at least head of, Houston's annual Art Car Parade, then you probably have been living under a rock somewhere for the past twenty years or so. So allow me to explain: art cars are cars of any make or model that have been transformed into awesome pieces of art. It's amazing how one car can be completely transformed when in the hands of a creative mind at work. So the next time you're living off of Ramen noodles, or even if you have cash to spare, be sure to stop by the Art Car Museum and experience all the amazing creations they have on display.
