There are lots of ways to get around and see the city. You can sign up for a tour on a bus at $60 a pop, or rent a bike and find your own way. Or, for Adventurous Hiking Tours in the City, you can email me for an appointment (hoofinitSF@gmail.com), and get a personalized experience. As a local who loves this city and sharing experiences with people, I think it's the best way to get to know any town.

San Francisco Riviera

From The Ferry Building to Ocean beach, this tour can be done in segments. Bay views, museums, military and natural history, the splendour of tourist traps mixed with the rustic hideouts of Native San Franciscans, and a lot of personal history as well.

View From Corona Heights

Natural Experiences

There are a plethora of parks in San Francisco, and you can literally hopscotch across the city in them. Delores Park offers great views of the City, and Sexy City-dwellers sunbathing along the slope. Corona Heights and Bernal Heights are two rocky precipices preserving the views of the city. From Corona Heights, it’s a few blocks to  Buena Vista Park, an arboreal alcove, and the Hip Haight, which carries you down to Golden Gate Park; suddenly your swept all the way to Ocean Beach.
Also easily accessible is the Legendary Alamo Square (four blocks from the GG Panhandle), home to those legendary Painted Ladies, though these are by no means the only ones in the City.

Surprises

We had a great tour yesterday!
I was excited to actually have a tour where our course got changed! We had planned to Stop off at an Irish pub, but One of our guests had never been to the legendary “Mel’s Diner,” so we stopped in for milkshakes. We then found the Columbarium, one of the only sites where one can be ‘interred’ in SF… and spent 2 hours there!!!!
It was a real treat to visit Tommy’s Mexican Food… great food and Margaritas to fuel the rest of the afternoon… and visit the VA hospital. The views and architecture are awesome.
Then, instead of going down to Ocean Beach, we went to Sutro Heights… I’m sure I saw a whale. Form there it was a real pleasure to watch the surfers and “Wild Bill” Exhibit as the sun set.

PEAK TO PEAK

From 24th Street I hike up to the Twin Peaks, and then cross over to Mt. Davidson. I estimate it to take three hours. Fantastic views of SF, the Peninsula, Bay, and Pacific Ocean with great bakeries, pubs and restaurants along the way… plus, nature and quiet along city’s spine!

The Dirty Harry Tour

From Washinton Square to Mount Davidson, we trace the steps of our favorite cop as he pursues the assassin through the movie… too bad the Seal’s stadium is Caput!

Magnolia Pub & Brewery

1398 Haight Street, San Francisco, CA 94117

One of San Francisco’s great Breweries/taprooms, we start at Gordon Biersch on the Embarcadero, and Migrate accross the city hitting such legendary places as Anchor Steam, 21st Amendment,Toronado, and the Beach Chalet. San Franciscans really love our beer.

Grand Opening

Doing it for my baby: So we are having baby Blue’s Welcom Party as A Grand Opening for My tour Business, Oct. 5th, Sunday at 2;00. We will be hiking to Twin Peaks, and then having a grubfest with St. Supery and Puchback Wines.

The BayTripper Tour- Sausalito

We left Fort Mason at 10:15, and enjoyed the sunshine, despite all predictions of rain. The wind really blew though, and Aidan (my son) was a real trooper!!! We made the Warming Hut in an hour!!! It was such a beautiful afternoon; Crystal clear as we hiked across the bridge, and Fort Baker was actually a bit Balmy, as it is sheltered by the Marin Headlands from the winds and fog. The Discovery Bay Museum is Fabulous!!! So were the views of the Bridge and San Francisco.
Next stop Sausalito, by 2:00!!! Debated Scomas, but I wanted to see if Sushi Ran was open…  it wasn’t because on Weekends; the bus tour people who get dropped off down town only have 45 minutes, so they never make it over there. It was great though, because we still found a great book store: “Flight of Oliver,” I think. Of course I couldn’t go into the wine bar because of Aidan, but the Ice cream shop that served crepes- c’etait fabeaux!!! We then took the ferry home.
Such a fabulous day!!!

Scomas of Sausalito

588 Bridgeway, Sausalito, CA 94965

Right on the water: the view, the drinks and the seafood are a divine combination, especially on days such as this!!! Their San Francisco location, at Fisherman’s Wharf is great, too.

The City by the Bay

Every tour is one of discovery.

Fort Mason Center

Marina Blvd & Buchanan St, San Francisco, CA 94123

The start of the Baytripper Sausalito Tour, this was teh Launching point for the soldiers sent out to fight in the Pacific during WWII. Now it houses more domestic concerns, like the SF public library Bookstore, some Museums, theatres and restaurants, and also is where the Annual Wine and Chocolate festivals are held

A great place to stop for a snack and a cup of coffee, or maybe buy some books and souvenir, especially if the wind is blowing in through the Gate.

Golden Gate Bridge

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, CA 94901

One of the most recognizable landmarks in the nation, the Golden Gate Bridge spans 1.7 miles across the San Francisco Bay and looms to a height of 746 ft. Finished in 1937, the hike across offers lovely views of the water, Marin headlands and cityscape.
