Holiday Gift Guide For Him
Before we know it Christmas will be here once more. Even though it falls on the same date every month, I still feel like it creeps up on me. I'm THAT shopper out on Christmas Eve still trying to figure out what would be the best gift for so-and-so. This year I thought I'd get a head start on my Christmas shopping and do a little research. Plus, a little online shopping never hurt anyone (shh...!)
Bose Around-Ear Headphones $140
Eff ear buds! There’s nothing macho (or comfortable for that matter) about ear buds! Give the man in your life something he’ll enjoy. They’re lightweight, which is a plus! Their ergonomic design keeps them comfortable for extended periods of time.
Vers Wood iPod Speaker Dock $150
This cherry wood iPod dock seems made for any man, whether he be a boyfriend, friend, dad or grandpa. It’s not too cutesy, yet not completely ugly either.
Who doesn’t love an excuse to go shopping at Target? You can do a little Christmas shopping for yourself, too. Expect to purchase more than intended :)
Retro Web Cam $35
This is a gift I’d consider stealing from the recipient. The Retrocam is a 1.3 megapixel webcam with built-in microphone. Inspired by vintage cameras, the Retrocam also comes with a tripod! Nevermind…Dad might not be cool enough for this one :P
This store has a lot of weird and random gift ideas for him, her, kids – anyone!
8GB iPod Touch $230
If your dad isn’t technologically inclined like mine, he won’t appreciate the awesomeness that is the iPod Touch. Hopefully that’s not the case and he will squeal like a school girl when he gets his hands on this. He can add all of his favorite tunes, TV shows, movies, podcasts and more!
I recommend buying online as it’s difficult to go into the store and not touch everything. They frown upon drooling.
Ultimate James Bond DVD Set $200
Guys enjoy movies. Why not get him a complete set of his favorite movies or TV shows? James Bond is a great place to start. Other favorites include 24, The Godfather, and The Sopranos.
Gift Cards - Best Buy
Some might say that gift cards are too impersonal, but I think they make a great gift. What do you get for someone who has everything? Let them find it themselves! I like giving gift cards because they can find something they want and will use or at least put it toward an expensive purchase.
This year Best Buys is offering gift cards that double as a speaker, complete with mini-headphone jack. It’s only available if you spend $50 on a gift card.
USB Vinyl Archiver $130
Does he have an iPod? If so, help him fill up his pod with his favorite tunes with this USB vinyl archiver. It’s a really simple way to convert all of your vinyls with a PC or Mac. It even automatically imports the songs into his iTunes library.
FredFlare has a lot of great gift ideas for him or her!
Sony 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player $200
Everything looks better in Blu-ray. It’s only a matter of time before it replaces standard DVD players.Help your guy be the first one in the family or group of friends to upgrade. Not only will he be excited, but you benefit as well -especially if you still live at home!
Gizmodo put together a list of great deals on Blu-ray players. Check them out now because they won’t last!
I heart MacMall. I heart it so much that I’d have its babies.
Colby Leather Valet $40
This valet helps keep the working man’s most important belongings in order. The three open compartments hold wallets, iPods, money, etc. There is a closed compartment for other valuables. I love this gift because I love organization. Most of these items are small and can easily become lost when thrown on a desk or dresser. Help him stay organized!
Is it bad that I enjoy searching through the Pottery Barn for kids section?
When you choose two Blu-Ray movies from Best Buy’s list (most are $20) you get a free PS3 remote.
Roll-away Alarm Clock $35
It looks a lot like Clocky, but it isn’t. This is the perfect alarm clock because it forces you to get out of bed to turn it off. So unless he’s good at ignoring obnoxious beeping sounds, looks like you’re guy will be getting out of bed on time.
Sanctuary Charging Tray $120
Finally! A way to bring order to the man who has a lot of gadgets! I hate seeing cords all over the place. This compact box helps keep his gadgets, and cords, in order. He can charge up to 12 gadgets at one time.
Gift Cards - Target
Seriously, name one person you know who couldn’t use a gift card to Target? I don’t know any. If you come up with someone, I’m calling you a liar. Target has a little bit for everyone. I should know…I wander up and down the aisles at least once a week.
Not to be out sold, Target is offering a gift card that doubles as a digital camera. It has 1.3 megapixels and 8MB of storage. Just like Best Buy, you have to spend at least $50 to get this fancy pants card.
