When deciding to hire a professional entertainer for your event be prepared to answer some questions about your event. A good entertainer will want to make sure that what he offers is a good match for what you are looking for. He will need to know the approximated ages and size of the expected audience, what type/types of entertainment you might be looking for such as music, magic, clowning, balloons, etc. What time frame you are expecting for the entertainment and a brief description of the setting in which you wish the entertainment to take place. Just because the entertainer is listed as a clown and that is what you are wanting for your child's birthday party doesn't mean that this clown will be a right match for what you want. Just as there are different teachers for different children there are clowns who specialize in different party venues. If your entertainer fails to ask questions make sure you ask to determine what your are getting. Price is not always a guarantee of quality. Ask for references, websites, photos or videos,or samples of their work. Make sure your entertainer is fully insured and if working with children they should be able to provide criminal background checks. You can not afford to be too careful. Take some time to research their background and you will be confident in having a special event.
