Solar Bear has an amazingly unique sound, unlike any other band I've heard. They took "being original" seriously. In fact, they look it to a whole new level. If you've been itching to hear something new and bizarr, read up on this crazy band.
Oh nice! Never would’ve thought to use GuideSpot for bands – I love it!
Who are these guys? WHAT are these guys?
Not so simply, they’re Solar Bear. Sloth Bear, Kodiak Bear, Grizzly Bear and Andean Bear. Like the Bernstein Bears and all their crazy adventures. That’s how it is for me when I listen to Solar Bear… like im on an adventure of crazinesssssss. The sounds these guys come up with are like nothing i’ve heard. They’re on their way towards a good future, no doubt… but more importantly they are creating this beautiful music out of passion. Something as unique as this just needs to be recognized. They don’t sound like every other local band you’ve heard around Denver. Actually, they don’t sound like anyyyyyyy other band. Their style is so hard to describe, but in the words of Solar Bear themselves, their music was an attempt to “bring musical life to life… a soundtrack to the disorder/order/uglyness/beauty of their daily lives.”
If I were you, I’d go experience a little more life and hit up listening to Solar Bear. They currently have 2 rough demo’s up. Listen at: www.myspace.com/solarbearclub
“Colorado has become a hotspring for music in recent years. Bands like The Fray and The Flobots have managed to break into mainstream radio. While many bands would do anything to enjoy similar success, there are other bands that focus on artistic expression , and the joy of making music together.” by Henry Venrick
