Guidespud's Excellent (albeit short) Cape Cod Family Vacation

Faced with a planes, trains and automobiles trip to Cape Cod with his two new bff's, Ian and Teddy, Guidespud dove right in to what would become his own personal Titanic. Here's a guide for families on Cape Cod. It's an excellent family vacation.

Laurino's Tavern

Food is okay at best. But they serve some pretty good deep-fried shrimp and clams. Hunky-dory for mom and dad. And they have a palatable kid’s menu.

We went here twice in 6 days. Mainly because they have a swing set, slides and a bouncy tent ( or whatever you call it) that occupies that painful misbehaving time between ordering and the food arriving.

Our top dining experience. We are still debating whether it was because our kids were so well-behaved, we had been eating crap lately or the food was splendid. I think we settled on the latter.

I had the surf and turf. Julie had the haddock. Both delicious. Kids menu was more than just fries along with a cheese dish, hot dog or chicken fingers. It was all tasty and quick.

Chosen for its ideal location, we were pleasantly surprised to find this is an ideal resort for a family. It’s right on the main drag in Brewster, the only Cape Cod village without the quintessential and picturesque Main Street full of expensive shopping. Perfect!

The food was superb (yes, considering it’s tavern food.) I had mouthwatering crab cake sandwich. Julie had palatable cod . The kids loved the french fries.
