GuideSpud Jones (aka "Indiana") is a busy guy. Somehow the ingenious folks in Breckenridge got him to spend the weekend in the beautiful town of Breckenridge in the Colorado Rockies (maybe $$ was a factor). He was busy. He drew a huge crowd and was not only the MC for the Music festival but also tapped the keg at the annual beer festival. G. Jones actually enjoyed the beer festival a little too much....
What a Story
I have never seen so much hustle and bussle in Breckenridge. It was so super crowded, and security was tight. I tried hard to take a picture of GuideSpud, but the security guards did no let me. That was Saturday – everything changed on Sunday.
The great GuideSpud Jones
Meeting Guidespud Jones
We were so lucky! It turns out GuideSpud stayed at the same hotel we did – the Village Hotel! On Sunday morning, he was doing some PR in the pool area of the hotel. That’s when I got a shot. I think he even winked at me.
The Accident
GuideSpud was a little hung-over, and he fell backwards into the pool. He was swept away so fast, and his death was imminent and certain. I will never forget the faces of the reporters and photographers who seemed completely helpless in the situation.
Niklas to the Rescue
But not my son. Without even thinking about it, he jumped into the pool to rescue his hero.
He did it!
He rescued GuideSpud Jones. From the smile on GuideSpud’s face, we could tell he was alive and happy. The cheering was incredible! All I wanted to do was hug my son for his courageous act.
Smiling again
A little nude sunbathing – and he is smiling again.
The Moral
The Moral of the story is this:
GuideSpud Jones is just human – he likes his beer as much as everyone else, and the altitude will get him as well
Sometimes it is hard to tell who the real hero is
Never sunbathe nude unless you want your picture on the Internet
