Hi, my name's Alexis and I'm a green tea addict. There, I said it. Beyond the green tea in my teapot, I'm attempting to fill my kitchen with anything that falls in the oh-so-delicious green tea category. So what if my diet consists of cupcakes and ice cream, green tea is healthy for you (don't try to disrupt my logic here, it won't work). What green tea goodies make your foodie heart skip a beat?

I recently tasted these rectangular gems (thanks to a generous friend who brought back them back from Japan), and let me know just be honest: I licked the melted bits from inside the wrapper in public. no shame. it was worth it.

This would be perfect to snack on while sipping on a cup of green tea. woah tea overload.
I jump for joy (not just from the excess green tea caffeine in me) when one of my fave food blogs, The Kitchn, shares some green tea goodies! The pics are always worth it!
green tea ice cream
I would consider working in an ice cream shop that sold this. actually, I’d work there for free if it was a green tea only ice cream parlor (and they would pay me in ice cream…and also pay for gym membership to counteract the ice cream overload…well unless my uniform was a moo moo dress).

Matsukaze (wind in the pines) Matcha
I love it on it’s own, whisked with cold milk, with a little honey on porridge, crusdhed with sea salt and sprinkled on poached eggs…the list goes on and on!

I just hear about this and really want to try it. I’m assuming I will need a friend in Japan to send it to me. They also made a Japanese basil coca cola as well. Both sound tempting..

If they used a matcha it might give it a creamy taste.
Green Tea Tiramisu
I’m still torn on how I feel about this. I LOVE tiramisu, so I don’t know if this would ruin it for me. But I’m more than willing to try!! I’m sure it’s good; just different than typical tiramisu.

yes, def not Italian. But maybe you can make 2. 1 regular & 1 with matcha powder. If you don’t like the matcha, then you have the regular one. But if you like the tea version, celebrate by eating both!

Almond Cupcakes with Green Tea Butter Cream
I am not sure if the frosting would ever actually make it on the cupcakes if I attempted to make a batch. I wouldn’t be surprised if you caught me with my head in the frosting bowl. That’s one way to get green highlights.

White Chocolate and Matsukaze Matcha Green Tea Truffles
I made these recently to showcase the amazing things you can do with tea (other than drink it). The ladies at the Clifton WI were like a herd of locusts. Delicious Valrohna white chocolate, organic cream and Matsukaze Matcha and a little sea salt. The Matcha is ceremony-grade powdered green tea, from the prestigious Japanese tea area of Uji and is a beautiful bitter-sweet contrast to the sweet white chocolate.

There’s a great place called Three Tarts in Chelsea that does mini panna cottas and I think one has green tea in it. I had blood orange the other day—yum.
