Great Breakfast and Brunch Places in Downtown Denver

Breakfast and lunch spot. Very hip, creative and modern, a great new addition to LODO. Lines form on weekends, as locals stumble out of lofts and linger here for hours.

A very unique dive breakfast spot. With a signature weekend petticoat brunch, served by cross-dressing waiters with attitude & umm, style. Pure fun, PG-13, and think before bringing evangelicals.

For a traditional Irish breakfast, try Fado’s. It’s got a decent selection of breakfasts, most all of which provide a variation on potato bread, and a “good fry”. Large outdoor patio, which makes it a best bet for a nice summer morning breakfast or lunch.

A popular business breakfast location, conveniently located at 16th and Wazee. Good, not great, but for some reason it seems to be a lot of people’s favorite.

Fresh and healthy breakfast selections, a great business or weekend spot. Located in a loft-style building in the same block as 16st mall.

Anchoring the historic Larimer Square lies a great bustling market cafe, with a front section cafe and a back full of to go foods and meals. For coffee, this is a prize place, combining great coffee selections, an excellent collection of baked goods and an excellent outdoor seating area.

A long standing mainstay of LODO, Paris was here back when the hood was sketchy and it preserves a bit of an edgy vibe by becoming the spot for the skateboard park kids to linger. If you’re looking for a downtown grnge cafe, this place it the best. Excellent coffees and deserts, in the middle of a stret which is converting itself into a funky and lively place within Lower Downtown.

Don’t get scared away because it looks like it is in a strip mall… This yummy brunch treat has amazing dishes and a hip yet laid back crowd. I took my boyfriend here to celebrate our anniversary and his new job, and they treated us like royalty… Giving us a sexy booth table and some free treats on the house!

Home style comfort food at a reasonable price. Its right in the heart of the Santa Fe art district as well so makes a great starting point for crawling the galleries.

You have to get here early because it is always full.

If there is a wait you can go have a bloody mary at Pints across the street.

If you need a power breakfast spot, take control here. It’s inside the upscale (GOP-ish) Brown Palace hotel, and has excellent food and service. A tad stuffy, but that’s kind of the point.

A home-style type of place, with a country kitchen feel. Lots of booths, usually has good specials and great bottomless coffee. ALAS, CLOSED, but leaving it here since some people from Grand Junction seemed to like reliving their old skool breakfast memories ;)

Lola is a great spot for a weekend brunch, especially during the summer months where you can truly enjoy their great patio with a view overlooking downtown. Great contemporary mexican infused variations on traditional brunch.

One of Denver’s best kitchens, bar none, in my books. I recently discovered their weekend brunch. With it’s usual flair for interpretation, this is the place for foodies who want a range of modern breakfast choices.

A bustling and lively breakfast diner, with huge portions and a very large menu of special breakfast burritos and scrambles. If breakfast is going to be your main meal, this is the spot!

In the heart of LODO is a great laid back coffee house. CG is a warm and inviting spot for lingering over coffee anytime of day or night. Lately they have added a liquor license and seem to be adding more evening live music, bumping up their evening appeal.

It’s not exactly downtown but it’s pretty close and definitely worth the drive for the food. My bigger question is why this guide doesn’t SEO first page for just “denver brunch”, just “downtown denver brunch”. B)

Vegetarian and vegan fare served invariably by a tattooed young person in skinny-jeans. Formerly breakfast and lunch but moving rapidly into the ultra-cool dinner milieu. Expect crowds on the weekend.
