Whether you're in the mood for classic bacon and eggs or a plate of piping hot pancakes, this list has something for you. From top weekend Brunch spots to Diners that deliver, start at the top and work your way down for a delicious way to start the most important meal of the day.
For the most inspiring pancakes that hang off the plate, Snooze is the spot for your mod meal in the morning. Open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch, Snooze has a fan club lining up out the door on weekends for the flights of pancakes (pineapple upside down, Reece’s, Cherry cobbler) or the fantastic egg dishes and delicious coffee. Lunch is darn good too; my favorite is the turkey wrap with cranberry sauce for a taste of Thanksgiving. Mod decor and color schemes make the sunny, warm restaurant even more inviting.

The coolest diner in town seves up a stellar brunch menu with a side of tattoos. The best seat in the house is at the large bar or private patio on the side. Comfort food with a dash of fine dining makes each meal delicious.3 styles of eggs benedict, egg-in-a-hole, huevos rancheros and french tosat are just a few of the many items scarfed up by the regular patrons each weekend.

With one of the best patios in town and a loyal clientelle, be prepared to wait in line for Lola’s famous brunch. A latin inspired menu features favorites like breakfast tacos, lobster enchiladas and my favorite…the veggie torta, a mexican style frittata. At 2 pm, live music gets the party started and the micheladas (Mexican beer over ice with fresh squeezed lime juice) pouring. Go on Sundays at noon and stay for an afternoon of fun. Be sure to get quacamole that is prepared at your table.

For the most entertaining breakfast you’ve ever encountered, bop on over to Bump n’ Grind. Not for the faint of heart, this restaurant features waitresses in drag with a side of eggs. Kind of like Dick’s Last Resort, but with more style, the waitresses have potty mouths and pretty shoes. If you can’t take a joke, take a hike. But if you relish sarcasm and like a man in heels, Bump n’ Grind has good food and better laughs.

Nestled in the 16th Street Mall between Champa and Curtis is a great local restaurant named Rialto. This is one of my regualr haunts for a quiet, casual meal. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner…Rialto has a nice little patio that is perfect for coffee and breathing in some fresh air while you eat fruit and pastries from the brunch buffet. Order your meal and help yourself to the line-up of crescents, danishes and toast with pineapple, grapes and melon. The eggs benedict, stacks(a ‘stack’ of potatoes, eggs, and specialty sauces) or the breakfast burrito are sure to please. I love the greek omelette with spinach, tomatoes and feta. If you’re in the mood, build your own Bloody Mary at the Bloody Mary bar. That’s hot!

If you’re hungry and ready to dig in, Dazzle is your place. With live Jazz entertainment in the background, this restaurant gets filled with all varieties of people from couples to families wanting to get their fill of the the enormous buffets. That’s right, I said buffets. Two rooms feature specialties like standard eggs and thick, peppery bacon to the best mac n’ cheese in town. Order a mimosa and get free refills throughout your meal. Fresh crepes, omelettes, potatoes, sausage, ham…it’s all here and then some. Very filling and not the cheapest breakfast in town, but definitely a fun and social way to eat breakfast.

One of my favorite alltime restaurants in Denver no matter what time of day, Coral Room has a weekend following for good reason. The biscuits with sausage gravy is savory and satisfying down to the very last bite. Fresh omelettes, steak and eggs and $7 bottomless mimosas make this a great place for beginning the weekend.

Pancakes Please
How sweet it is! Nothing brings you back to sitting at mama’s kitchen table during childhood like a forkful of flapjacks and a glass of cold milk.
A favorite among the hospital workers from across the street, Hot Cakes Diner is a simple, Uptown favorite for pancakes. Giant, plate size stacks in a range of flavors are the breakfast of choice. Crispy home fries and greasy bacon round out your meal. No frills, no alcohol and no games. Simple, American breakfast fare served here.

Has a hangover taken residence in your body? Are you in need of a remedy? Slide into a booth or take a seat at the counter and order from one of the largest menus in history and get your grub on. Sam’s is known for mexican meals, so it’s no surprise they have over 10 styles of breakfast burritos that must be a foot long! Green chile will kick whatever ails you right out the door. Hundreds of options are available as well as a spicy Bloody Mary that will get your equilibrium back in line. Get there early or prepare to wait a bit. On your way out, grab a scoop of Liks ice-cream…if your stomach can handle any more!

You may know the Rocky Mountain Diner for it’s packed lunches and dinners of casual comfort food with bowls of gravy and buttery bread. Weekends begin at 11 am and offer a small but successful brunch menu for those of us who want some comfort for breakfast too. Choose from basic scrambles, biscuits and gravy or a breakfast burrito to ease you into the weekend.

One of the most popular breakfast spots in Colorado has a location in Denver; and its packed. Come on a weekend and see packs of people sitting in the front lawn waiting for there turn to indulge in the cajun themed menu. Order a spicy Bloody Mary and bask in the sun until your name is called. Be sure to come with an empty stomach because these plates are huge. Trout, etoufee, eggs, sardou and the best biscuits I’ve ever eaten are abundant. Homemade jam, thick holandaise sauce over thinly shaved ham, and teriffic chickory coffee makes this hangout tops. Elastic pants optional.

Two locations in Denver allow fans of Mona’s to eat all over town. This location, with the tell-tale legs that cross and hang over the sign and the front door, is narrow and long and always bumpin for this most important meal of the day. Considering the well edited menu and consistent food, it’s no wonder so many people venture out on the weekends for their fill of Mona’s most popular meal. I enjoy going when it’s chilly outside and cozying up with friends while we are bundled in our sweaters and sipping hot coffee. A great local restaurant is found in Mona’s.
