I am off to London for the first time at the end of the month. I will be in Hampshire for 2 days but in the city for the rest of the week. I would love your suggestions on what I should do!
Ever since I watched Bedknobs and Broomsticks as a child I wanted to go to Portobello Road. I am sad that I will miss the Saturday market but I will have to dance and sing down the street! Maybe I will find Angela Lansbury there!
You MUST go here. Actually reminds me of some areas on the Lower East side but much much cooler. Best place to get a tattoo! Cause I know you want one!
All the info a vegan could need for a trip to London! They have especially helpful information about vegan restaurants as well as restaurants that are not vegan but have a few vegan options.
You ABSOLUTELY MUST go to the globe and SEE A PLAY. DON’T JUST DO THE TOUR. I saw Midsummer Nihts Dream and it was by far the highlight of my time here without a doubt. Shakespeares best acting is happening in his very own theater.
There are two items that seem not to factor into the English national lexicon: p-i-z-z-a and c-o-f-f-e-e. After the excitement of landing on British soil has worn off and jetlag has sufficiently set in, you will begin to resent this otherwise amazing city for its lack of both. From one ‘Rican to another, do yourself a favour and get to the nearest Balan’s. Balan’s has locations in Earl’s Court, Chelsea and Soho and they have really good coffee by any national standard! As for the pizza…this Guidespotter finally threw in the towel on that one.
Maybe I am a huge nerd (MAYBE!) but visiting here was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to London. The museum is set up in the actual bunker where Churchill & co. were set up during the air raids on London during WWII. It’s so educational but so interesting!! I swear!!
H-E-L-P. I have been drooling over this place since I first heard about it. This could very well be my dream restaurant/bar: chalkboard, old floors, exposed brick, a fireplace waiting to be lit, taps full of delicious brew…ahhhh! Please go. I want to live through you.
I have been obsessed with Prince William for as long as I can remember… The entire royal family is amazing, and to have a future king actually be not only good looking, but gorgeous, is something the long royal history has not seen much of! Think he would consider a nice and cute American Jewish girl? What?
If William is too concered about how it will look if he cheats on his girlfriend, then you might just try to work it with his brother, Harry… Who knew Harry would end up being this HOTTTTT! All of a sudden, I was stunned by how attracted I was to him… Then recently, at my brother’s big gay fun wedding, all these gay sexy men were telling me that my boyfriend reminded them of Prince Harry! Score, I must have my own prince already….awwwww (just in case he reads this… you know…)
Try a bus tour, the original bus tour was great. You can get on and off when you like and they run every 10 or 15 minutes. You can find tickets at any street stand around the city. This is also a great way to get some info on historic sites without being on a day long tour.
YOU MUST GO TO BOROUGH on a Thursday or Friday and bring an empty stomach and a pocket full of money. There are incredible little stand with fresh baked goodies, GIGANTIC cheese wheels….youre senses will be overloaded there are so man delicious things to discover. You could sample something from each vendor, and then have a picnic on the steps of the church in front of it. :)
