It would take a stone cold killer to not be moved by the speech that Obama gave in Chicago’s Grant Park on November 4th of 2009. If you have even been to Chicago then you well know that Grant Park is an extremely large area, but on this night the park was overflowing with people. People overwhelmed with joy, hope, as well as several other strong emotions. From talking to people who were in the city that night, they recall a feeling of being one, being together, and being as proud as America was meant to be. Some of the most powerful people in the nation watched their hero accept the greatest position of leadership in the world. Oprah Whinfrey, the Reverend Jessie Jackson, and tens of thousands of people from across the nation with tears in their eyes because they had finally found that ray of hope and answer to their prayers, and a dream that was now realized. Obama had given the people the power of their voice, no longer would it take back breaking lengths for our cries to be answered because they now had someone who would fight for them as well as unify them. Obama explains that America is the greatest country in the world and for it to continue being that way we must make it possible for every man, woman , and child is able to maximize their potential. No longer will you be told that you are not strong enough, or smart enough, or old enough to perform. Everyone now has a chance to be exactly what they had dreamed they could be or what they could achieve. In one night the faith of a nation was restored!
Barack Obama knows just as much as the average American how hard it is for change to occur in our government. In order to combat this Obama became a voice of the people, people who are desperate for large changes. However this task cannot possibly happen from just one man, even one such as our new president. It will take all of us working together to obtain this. As Obama says “Words do inspire.” That is exactly what Obama is trying to do, inspire us into maximizing our potential in this world, helping our neighbors, being our own vessels of inspiration for other. Inspiration is infectious, and it spreads when exposed. So remember in your day that you are not the only one with these problems, some may have it worse than you, and if so then you can be in a position to help them. Those who have the ability to act have the responsibility to act. We must all live in this country together and to do so we must be at peace with one another, respect one another, and come to the aid of one another. If you commit a selfless act for another, that will come back around to you when you have a problem. For years people have whispered “One day… One day everything will be alright” And I tell you today is that day! But you must rally to make it happen. “YES WE CAN!”
Thank You Mr. President - From the Author
In a final note, Barack Obama has a lot of work ahead of him, and he will not only deserve but need our help in supporting him. I myself will now follow in his recommendations for maximizing our potential and doing my part. I will be a great citizen of this nation, helping those who cannot help themselves, as well as making myself the greatest American that I can be so that I may be able to extend more and more help to other’s every day. Obama is going to be a great leader but it will tremendously help him if he knows that he has a nation behind him, that follows his dedication and determination, and is proud to call him our president!
The Father of This Nation
Barack Obama has a love for this nation that is only second to his own beautiful family. Many might think Obama should put the country first, but I disagree, I believe that is a part of what makes the man so great. Putting your family first is what most every American does, because they love and care for them, they wish the best for them, and worry about them when things are not just so. As the way that Obama should do for his country. Obama is now the father of this nation and in order for him to remember how to properly care for it he must be closely reminded as to how to love and treat your family.
Creating a Stable Mind in the Whitehouse
As you can see our new president keeps himself in good physical condition. This is a great sign of a leader. Physical health has a direct correlation with mental health. Clarity of the mind, making sound decisions, and being physically able to perform the tasks that a president must do in order to achieve their goals. He is less likely to get sick, and more likely to have a positive mind frame and outlook for this country.
Staying Above the Hype
As with any president some will not understand Obama’s leadership. People tend to fear what they do not understand. Racism comes from not understanding that one race is just as another, and from this they reject them. The people of this nation must be aware that these people are out there and they will do drastic things to oppose Obama; rumors, fake pictures, and nit-picking every mistake he may do. However I implore you to look beyond these pathetic attempts to diminish our dreams of hope, unified there is nothing that we cannot do!
