Favorite Coffee Shops in NYC

Coffee and scrabble! They also have fun events, scrabble tournaments, live music and free Wi-Fi. They now serve beer, wine and cheese after a respectable hour. And no that hour is not 2 PM.

Coffee for hipsters and vegans. Finally a coffee shop with vegan treats! It is a coffee and cake shop by day, live music venue with coffee, cake and alcohol by night.

Coffee for Hunter College students who don’t want Starbucks. Small coffee shop on the Upper East Side. They have huge barrels of coffee beans in different roasts and flavors that make it smell delicious!

Coffee for hippies. Small place but delish coffee and food!

Coffee for trendy Tribeca. Mocca serves coffee and hummus! They have art on the walls and cute red couches. There is also wonderful Mediterranean food and fabulous cocktails.

Coffee for chill Tribeca residents. They serve coffee in real cups on cute vintage trays. They have salads, sandwiches and gelato in addition to normal coffee shop treats. They also have free wi-fi.

I love hanging out here on a Friday afternoon, when the weekend is starting. Their lattes are rumored to be “the best in Manhattan.” Plus, their creme-filled cupcakes are awesome.

For me to love a coffee place, it has to a) make fantastic NOT burnt coffee and b) have a nice space. Seems simple, but you’d be surprised to find how difficult this is! Red Horse makes a great cup of coffee and the space is cozy, but not too small. So comfortable.
