He helped raise you. He went to work endless hours to feed you. He smoked a pipe and said, “I love you.” Well, my father did some of those things. Definitely didn’t smoke a pipe, but you get the point.

Father’s day is for our fathers. Whoever you call dad, show him some appreciation and take him out!

Pizza and Beer. Can't Go Wrong There

Chicago is known for it’s pizza. If you don’t have a lot of money to spend on dad this year, no worries. Pizza and beer is always a winner. Especially in Chicago.

Then, once you have him boozed up, see if he’ll buy you a pony!

Dad's Can Be Presidents

Obama seems like a really awesome dad. Not only does he seem fun, but he’s from Chicago AND the President of the United States! How cool would that be? I think you’re a pretty cool dad too, Barack Obama!

Take A Boat Out On The Lake

Chicago is directly beside Lake Michigan. Make a day out of it, and go fishing on the lake! Who knows, you may catch more fish than dad. Wahooo!

Bike The Lake Shore Path

Get dad away from the desk for a while, and go biking along Lake Michigan. It will be great exercise for you both as well as a great view of the lake. Just don’t encourage him to ride without both hands!

Who doesn’t like a good laugh? Get some tickets to see Second City and make a night of it! You’re both adults, go laugh at things that are funny! Buy dad a beer while you’re at it!

Dad Was Young Once

I remember my dad being young, actually. He was 23 when I was born. Somehow I keep those memories in the back of my mind, so that no matter how old he gets, he will still be young at heart.
