At 55,my definition of a good happy hour has changed since my 20's! Now, I look for good food, good atmosphere - not cheap drinks! The locations listed below all have good happy hours for the "older patron" - meaning no techno-music, you can talk to your companion(s), service is good, and works well for those on a budget!

McCormick & Schmick's

1103 1st Ave, Seattle, WA 98101

Although I’m only listing one, Happy Hour is good at all M&S’s – killer food! 1/3 lb. Tillamook Cheeseburger & Fries for $2.00. Menu changes monthly, but the burger is a standard.

Sazerac

This is the restaurant in the Hotel Monaco – absolutely unbelieveable food – have at 3 people to share all the different appetizers – even with 3, you won’t be able to have ALL. Be sure to try the baked brie, or the wood-fire cooked clams/mussels. mmmmmm.

What could be better than a beer on the pier? Full dinners for $4.00! Absolutely amazing – and the wine is a bargain too! Great for a summer day.

Fishermans Restaurant

Friends in from out of town? For the true “water” experience – try this! Beautiful outdoor deck with windscreens – full view of the water. Watch a parasailer – while enjoying their very reasonably priced happy hour food (clams are delicious!) No bargains on the drinks, but the deck and friendly service makes up for it!

Again, got friends from out of town? Forget the view from the Space Needle. For the price of one person taking the Needle elevator, you can get 3 appetizers on the 28th floor bar – much higher than the Needle. Just think view and food! Seattle’s best kept secret, and, as the staff calls it – Seattle’s smallest bar. A bargain on the drinks as well – you can’t beat the prices or the view! (sorry, no little telescopes you put coins in)
