The travel bug has bitten me, without a doubt. When I was thirteen I headed over to Europe to dance with a dance company in some theaters older than our country, I was taken by the history, the culture, EVERYTHING. Since I have gone back a few times and am about to embark on another journey through a handful of European countries. I found that the yearning to travel didn't stop there, not only do I love Europe, but now there are more countries, cities, retreats going on my list that may take the rest of my life to cross off.
WHAT ARE YOUR DREAM VACATIONS???
My favorite vacation thus far: Florence, Italy
There is something about Florence that made me want leave behind everything I’d built in the states. Though not as busy as Rome, Florence still has a vibrant energy, incredible art and architecture and you can escape to the hills of Tuscany with just a short train ride. Its the perfect combination between city and countryside.
One of the difficult things about planning trips is figuring out all of the tiny details, especially if you’re attempting to do it on your own. Gecko Adventures takes away some of that stress. Though airfare isn’t included the trips are relatively inexpensive and are through various countries.
Whether you want to go on a spiritual retreat through India, take a safari through Africa, trek from Buenos Aires to Rio De Janeiro, or see the pyramids in Egypt, Gecko has EVERYTHING. Trips can vary in length and price but once you’re there everything is taken care of…..pretty good deal.
I so badly want to go to Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, and the Philippines. Hopefully I will go sometime next year! I guess the whole hassle is just getting there because once you’re there everything is really cheap and getting around isn’t to difficult either.
Back in the day when I was just a kid with the proverbial dream to be a movie star, my friend and I put on a little musical gem of a show for the neighbors in Pittsburgh.
One of our numbers was Kokomo by The Beach Boys, and I still have yet to go to ANY of the places mentioned. Take me!!!
