Gvia Ha'Halomot 2010/11 is set up to make you the manager of your own dream team. Pick your football team from some of the best players in Israel and win prices over the season.

The aim of the game.

Start by picking an 11-player team using a budget of $50 million. Each player has been given a fantasy value that we have designated to them based on a secret computer program. Each player earns and loses points based on their actions in real life games. If a player is not playing to your standards you can substitute up to three players out in any of the three designated transfer windows through the season. Join or create a Mini-League and see how you compare with your friends also.

How to play

Selecting your players.

Check out the player list we have created that shows the top Ligat ’Al players by selecting Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders, and Forwards.
Check out the game rules and scoring details to assist you in picking your best 11.
The player list includes all the details you need to know about the players. Our sites easy to pick system allows you to stay within the selection rules:

1. You cannot exceed your budget of $50 million.

2. You must follow the formation of 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.

Scoring

Each player receives points based on their performance for every match they play in Ligat ’Al, Toto Cup, State Cup (Gvia Ha Medina), UEFA Champions League (not including qualifiers), and Europa League (not including qualifiers).

Choose your best eleven by picking the players who you think will do the best based on the scoring system. Players get points for things you would expect like goals, and clean sheets and lose points on things like receiving a card and getting scored on.

Making Transfers

Make changes to your lineup either during the unlimited transfer period before the start of the season or during any of the other three transfer periods. The preseason transfer period allows you to change your lineup as many times as you want. Unlike the preseason transfer periods you can only change up to 3 players in each transfer window during the season.

The pre-season transfer period will be open from the day you sign up until 23:59:00 in Israel on (date). During this transfer period you can make as many transfers as you would like.

The first transfer period will be open from 09:00:00 in Israel on (date) until 23:59:00 in Israel on (date). Each transfer occurs immediately and players are eligble to score points as soon as they are transfered.

The second transfer period will be open from 09:00:00 in Israel on (date) until 23:59:00 in Israel on (date). Each transfer occurs immediately and players are eligble to score points as soon as they are transfered.

The third transfer period will be open from 09:00:00 in Israel on (date) until 23:59:00 in Israel on (date). Each transfer occurs immediately and players are eligble to score points as soon as they are transfered.

You can change players who are injured, under performing according to your standards, or have left Ligat ’AL and bring in new players. Your decisions during the transfer window can make or break your season.

During each of the transfer windows you must keep your lineup accurate with the rules and only allowed to change up to three players, excluding during the preseason transfer period. When buying a new player you do not receive points he has acquired in previous games before the purchase. Likewise, players that you have sold stop scoring you points. Only players that you own earn points for your team.

You can never go over the $50 million budget, but you may spend less and save up for a future transfer window. Our transfer system will ensure that no player goes of the $50 million budget and follows the game rules.

The players who are chosen for the team of the week will each receive 2 points as well as those who are chosen to be the star positional player (GK/DEF/MID/STR) will receive 8 points.
Scoring a goal will result in 5 points, and the person who is credited with the assist receiving 2 points.
If a player scores a hat-trick (3 goals) or more, they will be credited with a bonus 5 points.

*A Goalkeeper or Defender who keeps a clean sheet (0 goals allowed) in their respective game will receive 5 points.
If that Goalkeeper or Defender concedes a goal, he will receive 0 points. Conceding 2 goals will cause the player to lose 1 point; 3 goals conceded equals a loss of 2 points, and so on.

If a team holds a clean sheet, all midfielders who played will receive 2 points.

A player who is given a yellow card during the game will lose 1 point and a red card earning that player a loss of 3 points. Two yellow cards resulting in a red card counts as a loss of just 3 points.
Yellow or red cards that are overturned after the completion of the game will still be deemed as lost points.
A penalty kick that is save results in 5 points for the keeper and a loss of 2 points for the player taking the penalty kick.

If any statistic that earns points is changed, by the governing body of the tournament entered, the change will not be recognized.

Gvia Ha'Halomot Tactics.

Some times the lower priced players can net you lots more points than some of the more expensive players.

A good tactic is to pick a few teams and mix it up, pick some up and coming players who have played pretty well for the last few season and watch them surprise you. Players around the 1 million mark can be proven to be great picks.

Some of the more expensive players who play week in week out can be great buys also. But they can also take up most of your budget, its all about creating a good balance in money management to get the best team for your money.

Guess the score tactics

When guessing the score you can do your homework to see how the teams have been when they played each other in the past. Also look to see if there is any big injury’s for the teams before the game because having players out can affect games.

If you manage to win the monthly and end of year prize you will have the pride in knowing you are the best predictor of this league in all of the land. And it always helps to be able to say that to your friends to rub it in.
