Hamburger Mary’s has to be on the list even though it’s a franchise because it’s just so fun! It’s the only franchise catering to a gay clientelle, and describes itself as an,“open-air bar and grille for open-minded people,” and the atmosphere is pure entertainment.

The Paramount Cafe burgers are for the more adventurous burger lovers out there. Is plain old beef getting tired? How about an elk, ostrich or lamb burger? Does that have your mouth watering yet?

Feeling like a fancier burger? Well, don’t think John Elway’s namesake restaurant, Elway’s, doesn’t deliver the goods. If you are wanting to treat yourself to a pricier pile of meat and cheese and veggies on a bun, Elway’s wins this championship.

Properly referred to as Duffy’s Cherry Cricket, this Denver staple is sure to top the list of most burger afficianados. Order a cold beer from the bar, your choice from two sizes of burger, and your choice of toppings to make the ultimate in cheeseburger goodness. Don’t forget an order of ’frings ’ on the side (a basket of fries and rings mixed.)
