Recently having completed its major 2006 expansion, the Denver Art Museum's newest building was designed by renown architect Daniel Libeskind to resemble the Rocky Mountains and the geometric rock formations found in the area. The museum not only has a large collection of Renaissance and 19th century paintings, but also has a comprehensive collection of African art, American Indian artifacts spanning 2,000 years, modern and contemporary pieces and Spanish Colonial works. The museum is located south of the Civic Center Park, adjacent to the Denver Public Library.

The Colorado History Museum celebrates and explores the colorful history of the Rocky Mountain Region. Within the walls of the museum are a plethora of photography, dioramas, and artifacts aimed at showcasing the state's past. Located in downtown, the museum is a few steps from Civic Center Park, Denver Art Museum and Denver Public Library.
