I'm looking for a good kindergarten school for my oldest kid. Of course, I think she is smart and talented therefore I need to find a school where she can flourish and thrive. We have over a year to apply and decide on one which seems like a long time but it is not. Are you from Denver, have any ideas on good schools?
Westerly Creek Elementary School
8800 E 28th Ave, Denver, CO 80238
This is the neighborhood school. They are at capacity this year and will be overtaken by kindergartners in 2010 so we exploring other options.
Westerly has an ‘average’ score but I hear it is a good school. It would be nice to go to the same school as our neighbors.

This the gifted and talented school in DPS. Of course, I think my daughter is gifted and talented but they have a testing process to make sure. It is actually called the Polaris program at Ebert.
I don’t know if we want to try this or not we shall see.

DIS - Wednesday Workshops, This sounds neat!
Wednesday afternoons at DIS offer students, from 1st to 5th grades, the opportunity to explore extra sport, arts and crafts – over and above the academic programs followed during the rest of the week. These elective classes or ‘workshops,’ allow the students to participate in fun activities with their friends from across the different grade levels (1st and 2nd graders are together, and 3rd, 4th and 5th grades combined in one group) and language programs. Students are given free choice, with parental approval, for these activities and they attend three different activities during the course of the afternoon
