Ever get excited to head to an old favorite location or a new place you've heard great things about, only to find out it's now closed? What was it? Where was it? Why should it come back, or is there a good substitute?

A very apt image, considering…

Neighborhood Flix Cinema & Cafe

I’d been hoping to find a reason to head to Neighborhood Flix for a film for a few weeks now. Cinemas with comfortable seating and food have a lot of appeal for me, especially cinemas that show weird indie and foreign films.

Then I get online today to see where “Choke” is playing in town (I’m thinking the best bet is The Mayan – a weird theater for a weird movie), and find out Neighborhood Flix is closed as of Sunday September 28th!

Building in The Village at Flatiron Crossing

Most of the shops in The Village at Flatiron Crossing (that’s the outdoor part) mall survive, but last time I was in the area, something had been completely demolished, leaving a huge pile of rubble in the middle of a new mall. I’m not sure what was there, but it’s gone now.

Something’s gone in The Village; Borders survived.

Tracks Night Club

I totally thought this place was closed but it looks like it has been reborn. Right on.
