The Day After The Presidential Election- Why I'm Glad It's Over.
I don't know about you, but I'm glad this debate over! Obama is to be President and now we can begin the change of our economy and dive into the important stuff. This election has not only made history, but it's definitely blurred the lines between Democrats and Republicans. If you voted, pat yourself on the back! Now what? I'm a little hung over from all of the excitement and long debates with friends and family. Here are some reasons why I'm glad this election is OVER!
Chicago Can Return to Normal Again
Chicago was crazy this year. If someone said they weren’t an Obama supporter, or if they were undecided, the person was then surrounded by Obama supporters and persuaded to vote for the man. It was best to just keep your mouth shut if you were a McCain supporter. Dare I say that name now?
We've Finally Made A Decision
Not only have we chosen a man, who i believe will change many things, but we’ve made history. Mostly thought, I’m just happy we finally made a decision. Every election year the decision seems to drag on. I knew who to vote for LONG before November 4th!
Maybe Something Else Will Be On TV Now
Who is going to be President? Who will win? I want Obama! I hate Obama! Ahhhh!
Let’s continue to talk Politics, I have no problems there, but that was all I saw, read about, and talked about. Put reruns of Friends back on now
PLEASE!
Ok Country, Let's Be Friends Again
I no longer care who is a donkey or an elephant. OK, can we put our politics aside and just be Americans? The decision has been made and I’m exhausted from all this debate. I don’t even like debating or Politics. Now, ya wanna go get a beer?
I Can Go Out With My Republican Friends Again
Grab a beer, we’re goin’ out now, but there will be no talk of Politics! Is that understood? I just want to have a pint of Stella and some good conversation about maybe… your day.
The Alaskan Bears Rejoice
The bears of Alaska can finally be at peace. Palin will be returned home to her native Alaska, where she can be much closer to Russia. A sigh of relief for all the bears and people across America.
Good, I don't have to move to Canada now.
Millions of Obama supporters (the entire city pretty much) flooded the streets of downtown Chicago and Grant Park for the rally. I on the other hand, chose to watch the rally from my couch. November 4th, I missed work for the election AND the rally. No complaints there. Then, when word spread that he won, I screamed “Go Bama!” out my window like everyone else in the city. A beautiful celebration for this country and Chicago!
No More Bashing
Ok, there will always be bashing between Democrats and Republicans, but at least it won’t be a constant streaming of this fight in our faces. If you’re gunna fight, fine, but it’s tearing this country up! CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?
No More Late Night Convos With My Cat
My poor cat, has heard about this election for months now. Finally, he can take his nap in peace. He kept telling me it was all going to be ok, Obama may win. Well, he was right. Thanks, Kevin for being there for me.
Family Peace Can Be Restored
My mother and I debated over the phone for the majority of ALL conversations during this election. I spoke of Obama as President and she, McCain. Now, maybe we can go back to discussing homemade recipes and have our mother/daughter talk, without our political views getting in the way.
Bye Bye McPalin
We no longer have to look at their faces! That is, after all of the hype dies down. I have nothing against McCain or Palin’s face in particular…Except that enough is enough!
