Seven Falls

Seven Falls are a spectacular 181-foot waterfall system that cascade down a cliff carved from Pike's Peak granite. The falls are located in South Cheyenne Canyon, fifteen minutes south of the downtown area. Visitors to the falls can brave the 223 step stairway to the top of the falls, or enjoy a ride in an elevator blasted out of solid rock to the summit of the falls and the most scenic views of the surrounding area.

The 700-room Broadmoor Resort was built in 1891 as the "Grand Dame of the Rockies" and continues today to be a five-star luxury resort with accommodations, spa, golf course and top ranked tennis facilities. A bountiful of dining options are available from casual pool side snacks to formal five course meals to the popular brunches at the Lake Terrence Dining Room. The resort is built on the shores of Broadmoor Lake southwest of the main area of downtown and is close proximity to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

The 2,600 acre Bear Creek Lake Park features three separate lakes (Big Soda Lake, Little Soda Lake, and Bear Creek Lake) and 15 miles of trails for hiking and biking. The park is located on the southwestern edge of Denver and is adjacent to Fox Hollow at Lakewood. Campers will be pleased to note that there are 50 campsites, many with electricity, and 50 picnic tables, and a handful of reservable shelters.

Engulfing almost the entirety of Lakewood's downtown area, Belmar is 22 blocks of shopping, dining, and office space. The area is bordered by Alameda Avenue in the north and Wadsworth Boulevard in the west. Diners can enjoy fine-dining at the Elephant Bar or just a sandwich and a beer at Baker St.

The 23-acre Denver Botanic Gardens showcases 9,500 species of plants artistically displayed in over 30 exhibits. Exhibits include water-sensitive plants from the Rocky Mountain region, a small Japanese garden, a conservatory filled with tropical flora and a variety of lilacs. The gardens is visited year-round with its popular outdoor concert series in the summer to the thousands of twinkling lights in the winter. Located in the Congress Park neighborhood, the garden is sandwiched between two of Denver's favorite parks, Congress Park and Cheeseman Park.

The Denver Firefighters Museum uses a collection of priceless and interactive artifacts, photos, and documents to celebrate the history of the firefighters of the region. Located in the historic Denver Fire Station Nation No. 1, the museum is downtown near Civic Center Park. Children can enjoy a mock attempt to put out a "real" fire. The museum offers classes and summer camps and can be rented for birthday parties and receptions.
