Colfax: A Pictorial Guide to Denver's 26 Mile Historic Avenue

For over 100 years, Colfax has been a major street for Denver, with the wealthy elite taking residence there in the 1890's, Jack Kerouac's On The Road referencing it, and now everyone from music lovers to street people lining the street. Whether you love it or hate it, you're bound to see something intersting each time you drive down Colfax.
Colfax has several new condo and townhome developments in the works, as well as the new Tattered Cover building which also houses Twist N’ Shout and Encore restaurant and Cinema Flix. New retail stores are also drawing new crowds.
Founder Taj Moore brought his love for Colfax to the masses in this website and group dedicated to all things Colfax.

Music and Entertainment
Murals cover the walls of music venues and bars up and down Colfax. Musicians poster flyers on the corners in hopes of finding a new band mate.
Know any punk/thrash drummers?
Living on Colfax
Whether you live behind a gate on a sidestreet off Colfax, or live on the streets or a somewhat seedy motel, there is always a lot of life and action to watch in any stretch of Colfax.

Pink is pretty average on Colfax.
Food and Drinks
Colfax is literally littered with bars, clubs and restaurants to suit any person’s mood. you can hit up a small, corner BBQ spot or a fancy sit-down restaurant. I like to relax on a patio to people watch.
While Colfax is gaining popularity again and undergoing much development, there is still a problem with grafitti, litter and crime. Over time, I hope the street can retain it’s cultural diversity and flavor but also become safer and cleaner so we can all enjoy it even more.
A little grafitti. At least it says love.
Grafitti, littler, filthy.
